He used to be pretty homophobic and narcissistic, conservative upbringing, he had paranoia of being pursued by gay guys, especially older gay guys. He seems to have opened up more after an encounter with some gay guy who helped him deal with his insecurities. Now he seems way more at peace with himself but with narcissists it is hard to know for sure if they changed or are just putting on an act. But yeah his old IG had arrogance and self-importance levels through the roof, today he seems more demure and happy. For sure a talented guy with a knack for media appearances. He used to be a competitive swimmer.

I heard the same! The funny part is that gay guy has now been married to a 21yo for over a year now, not sure if he ever learnt about it but it could have changed his mind on how "predatory" age gap relationships are. The opera world talks a lot, hopefully Bert keeps on his current path and his reputation improves. He seems to be on the right track.
