I haven't seen all that many 2010 films, but of the ones I have seen, my absolute favourite would have to be Black Swan.

The acting is top-notch. Natalie Portman is and always has been brilliant, and she doesn't disappoint in this film. Every time the camera was focused on Portman's face, you could see and feel the struggle and conflict of the character-- terribly uncomfortable to watch. Kunis, Ryder, Cassell and Hershey all hold their own as well. Great cast.

The concept for the film is fascinating. Very artistic and quite atypical, but not necessarily ground-breaking or unseen. However, like most of Aronofsky's films, it does stand out (in part due to the surreal elements of the film).

The sex scene is hot. Very hot. The female leads are beautiful to say the least. It's a good sex scene.

Great shots. The close-ups of Portman's face I mentioned earlier really help to create tension and help us to better understand the character. The shaky camera we sometimes see throughout the film again help to create tension (which is exactly what a thriller needs), and the shots of the ballet dancing are fantastic. Lots of close-ups in this movie, and they really add to the overall experience. Blacks and whites dominate the film (for obvious reasons), and the use of mirrors was a really good decision, I think.

The score was magnificent. Tchaikovsky's original Swan Lake score as tweaked by Clint Mansell (probably best known for having composed Lux Aeterna-- the main theme of another of Aronofsky's films). I think that alone says enough. The dancing is everything you'd expect, and the two coupled together make for some great fucking scenes.

It is a short movie.

Highly recommended. Watch it if you have the time.

I loved Inception too. Have yet to see Black Swan but want to go see it soon.
