Your pharmacist won't have much training in lubricants. From personal experience, the sexual devices/lubricants portion of pharmacy school was 1 hour of a lecture that half the class skipped. All most will tell you is that a water based lubricant is safe with condoms. Oil based lubricants are good for couples that don't need to worry with condoms.

Replens is a great choice for women who don't lubricate well naturally. It really can last 72 hours. Astroglide works pretty well as long as there is some baseline moisture to keep it going. I haven't tried these other brand, but they sound like something to try.

Wow...sounds like there's a thousand products out there. I guess we're kinda old fashioned, as we've always used plain ol' KY jelly. It's a good slippery water based lube that always gets the job done. But, I'm certainly open to suggestion, so we'll have to check out some of those other recommendations!

This is an odd one, but for JO'ing, I use Edge Active Care Deep Hydrating Shave Cream. It comes in a tube and is non-foaming. It provides great lubrication, washes off easily, and leaves the skin on my dick and balls very soft. No irritation. I use it in the shower.

Too bad the good lubes are so pricy. In the US we have a hand lotion called CORN HUSKERS LOTION. Full strength it is far too thick and sticky, but I dilute it four parts HUSKERS, one part WATER then add a small amount of cooking oil until it feels right. It's not long lasting and designed for masturbation, not intercourse, but if you go thru a lot of lube, you might try it.

Well, let's see...Spit and Determination is alsways what I've heard!
(Just kidding):biggrin1:
I use a product called "Wet" with Nonoxynol-9; and then there's a brand
name called Eros by pjur made in Germany that is also latex safe.
It's also always best to use a lube brand that is latex or rubber safe so it doesn't desolved the rubber. And Nonoxynol-9 is said to be helpful in preventing HIV / AIDS.
But there are many brands as one of the LPSG members mentioned.
Felmales are also very helpful in this area to pick out one that also agrees
with them and their system of comfort...They like a brand called Reality.
Mainly, Be Safe...Be Careful... and Enjoy!

I dont' see the problem with using spit.

I mean, one wouldn't give a blowjob with lubricant all over a cock. Lube doesn't taste all that good.

If we are talking sex/fucking... then by all means, KY or something that makes things wet. Very wet. I can't remember what I use.

Olive oil, been jacking with it for years. I keep it in an tasteful hand cream pump dispenser on my nightstand. Last through long edging session with 1 or 2 refreshings. And it's cheap and readily available.

As others have said, it depends on what type of sex you want to use the
lube for.

For intercourse or use with sex toys, I prefer a water-based lube. Do
NOT use oil-based lubes with latex toys or latex condoms as the oil will
break down the latex. You can use oil-based lubes with polyurethane
condoms. For latex condoms, use water-based or silicone-based lube.
Every water-based lube I've tried has been useless for masturbation.
They dry out and get sticky too fast. (The same goes for spit.)
However, I prefer them for anal sex. (I have no experience with vaginal
sex, so I can't comment on that.)

I agree with cruisinbcs and denis11 that the best lubes (Eros,
Astroglide, Stroke29) are pricey. In fact, I'm such a cheap bastard,
that I think regular K-Y is too expensive.

I also agree with everyone who recommended Albolene for masturbation.
It's labeled as a "moisturizing cleanser" but I can't imagine using it
for that purpose. It's similar to Men's Cream, but it costs about 4
times less--about $12 for a 12 oz. jar, which will last for a very long
time. It's greasy, which I don't like, but wipes up pretty well with a
towel and it will leave your skin soft and moisturized.

With regards to silicone-based lubes, I agree with Pjurlover that Pjur
Eros is better than Wet Platinum. (Unfortunately, it's also much more
expensive.) It's the only silicone-based lube that I liked, and I only
liked it for masturbation, not for anal. I haven't tried Gun Oil.

I have to say for jacking, olive oil is the best for me. It's so nice on the skin.

For fucking, I'm still experimenting and it seems that the silicone based lubes are best.

I have to put in another vote for Albolene (mixed with a little petroleum jelly to cut down on the slipperiness), Elbow Grease. Hell, I've even jacked with olive oil in a pinch.
