    At the moment it's Revenge.

Oh wow, what's not to love.

Before that I did have a huge initial scoff at Terra Nova I ate a whole heap of humble pie and admitted I adored it..if only it was shot in my home state of Queensland.

Which mini-series are you enamored with at the moment?

    Yeah, Revenge is great.

And I really love Downton Abbey.

Is Downton Abbey a mini series? Looks more like a period soap opera to me.

Given that all three of them (DA,TN and Revenge) are actually tv series rather than a mini-series on tv I'm guessing she's just referring to normal tv-series programs on tv rather than a tv- miniseries which would be more like The Pacific or That Wizard of Oz thing.

Also I liked Terra Nova too but apparently they're thinking about cancelling it or something. =(
Oops, forgot to answer question lol
Being Human is currently my favourite tv prgram on.
It would be Doctor Who but sadly it isn't coming back on till spetember 2012 instead of the usual feb-march start .

To be fair we have has huge amounts of flooding in that part of the world two summers in a row.

Last wet season we had an area the size of france and germany combined underwater and the North suffered over 4 cyclones (hurricanes) the worse of which was, of course Cyclone Yasi.
This season was a lot tamer on the cyclone front but we didn't dodge the rain or the flooding.

AbFab (it's only 3 specials so I'm counting it as a mini-series )

Gillard vs Rudd :biggrin1: Do you think there'll be a second series?

    That's where TN is/was filmed.

Well, Downton Abbey seemed to start out as an actual miniseries (telling a particular story start-to-finish in a set number of segments, like Rich Man Poor Man or Roots), but now that they're on a second season it seems to have morphed into a standard series.

perrlezze......I've been a staunch supporter of the labor party since I was 18 an actually allowed to cast a vote.
I voted for Rudd, and I still support Rudd.
That foul red headed cunt winning the ballot and the behaviour of her supporters in the last few weeks has me now voting for the Green party as THE only viable party left in the Australian political landscape.

Fuck the Gillard vs Abbott dog and pony show.

Rudd, if he has any sac at all will contest the next federal election and free us of that foul cunt and her stringy, wing-nut counter part.

I really can't stand "Revenge" but I'm not sure why. To be honest, I think it's just the actress that drives me nuts. I can't get into it though. I don't watch any true mini-series, just sitcoms and whatever you want to call the hour-long drama-type shows.

I currently don't have a favourite Mini Series. Two years ago my favourite was The Tudors and last year it was The Borgias (a german production), so I am not sure if anyone outside of Germany saw The Borgias.
I'm a sucker for History and historic series!
Oh, I wanted to add that Terry Nova just started here last week, but I missed the first episode and Who wants to be a Millionaire is also on at the same time, so I'd rather watch that.

That's a coincidence, just last night I stumbled upon The Borgias 01. It was pretty good and I'll watch it again. Jeremy Irons was good as Alexander and the production values were excellent. It's not a mini-series though; it's a normal series, although the distinction between those is not so clear anymore because of the way stories continue from episode to episode. I don't think it is a German production.

Another series like a mini-series I liked was Deadwood. The characters were wonderful and the "Shakespearean" dialogue was delightful. Especially Ian McShane in the role of Al Swearinton. His soliloquies - particularly when he takes to his balcony to address his Indian head, are nothing less than a blow-job for your brain. Deadwood is some of the best TV ever created.

I don't think of Revenge or Terra Nova as a MINI-series. They run full seasons. Mini-series by definition are short life deals. Like Downton Abbey or Poldark or Lonesome Dove or The Thorn Birds or Pennies From Heaven or Centennial those are what I consider mini-series.
