Put me in the camp that thinks it's apples, oranges and strawberries to put "musicals", original scores, and an-array-of-previously-recorded-songs type soundtracks all in the same category. I don't think the list even considered concert films (although I'd argue that Purple Rain is a "quasi" concert film.).

As such, I can't really chime in on this list. There are a great many treasured films with "soundtracks" that are interesting, majestic, brilliant, cool or just plain crazy. There are a good many shite films with noteworthy scores, as well. My vodka and cran is kicking in, and I can't be bothered just now biggrin, but I think this calls for a more appropriate ranking of:

1) Scores
2) Pop Soundtracks
3) Concert films
4) Musicals*

More later. Perhaps. :wink:
