Best restaurants in nyc??

What kind of food?

I am partial to Blue Fin in SoHo for sushi, Daniel for high end French, Waverly Tavern for neighborhood cool and outdoor dining, Babbo for Italian.

I was thinking of going to one dainty, french inspired place. A comfort food place (maybe for brunch) one pizza place, a few bakeries, and somewhere in china town, i know that doesn't narrow it down much

I am not from New York just travel there for business a lot - I am a fan of John's of Bleecker for pizza - not good on rest if those - sorry

Daniel is a French Restaurant in upper east side, and Le Bernardin is in midtown New York!!

And for brunch if weather is nice - Gallow Green

Ristorante Arno in the garment district. Le Bernardin has a waiting list over a year long unless you know someone. Purple Garlic in midtown. For french, Les Halles where Anthony Bourdain was exec chef.

They taste terrible, too. I think people like them because they taste like your grandmother made Betty Crocker or Duncan Heins box cake a little dry, with cheap, vegetable shortening based icing. Fucking terrible. But everyone's childhood includes poorly made cupcakes.

I want to say that I never ate at a restaurant in NYC that wasn't good. I never ate at the Times Square chain restaurant fare, but even just hot dog vendors on the street were yummy.

Nothing. Those hot dogs are great. But the halal carts have a better variety of options and are a better value. There's a waffle truck roaming the streets too. It's novel, but not amazing. Still, if you see it...

Gray's Papaya sells a "recession special". I think. I last ate a Gray's a decade ago.
