I'm a SWM neurotic divorcee who desperately wants to have a gay sexual experience but I'm terrified of anyone finding out. not that anyone in my life is not supportive of lgbt but ive been straight my whole life and don't want people to look at me different - i know that's dumb and ignorant . did any of your lives change? did people treat you different? women, specifically?

For me it just got the better of me and I told my wife (we were already rocky at the time) she left, felt like a massive weight off my shoulders, can get on with life now. disappointed for sure that she left but it was her decision to make.

Honestly, it is up to you how you deal with it, everyone is different. My famiy loved my wife, but were fully understanding when I told them as well. for me personally, for my mental health, I had to get it off my chest, am I shouting it from the rooftops to everybody, no, but the sense of relief is huge.

1 mil southern it’s more my job and neuroticism
Yeah, OK, that makes sense, you're scared to death . I've got about 50,000 around me, bi guys are everywhere and most people around here would never believe how many there were. That being said they are just as worried about being outed as you. I have no idea what your job is but I assume it stands out and you are reasonably recognizable, but I think your neuroticism is playing a much bigger role than you realize. If you can afford it, grab a burner phone with a pre-pay plan, move yourself a few miles from home, download an app like Grinder, set up an account, and look at what's out there. I promise you that you are not alone. Man, if there are that many around me, and I can find them, you have a million people around you, you will be fine.
