I think that there are several guys working since the days of John Holmes whose dicks are bigger than his. I'm interested in knowing what porn stars did you think were bigger than Holmes back in the 70's? To me it always seemed like dicks in porn were small(er) back then, making Holmes look huge in three(or more)some scenes. The only other I think from the 70's with a dick size that could be compared to Holmes was a guy named Samson I think (there is a video of him posted here somewhere). Tony "The Hook" Perez was also pretty big, but I think Holmes was bigger, especially if you include girth.

John Holmes is the biggest porn star in terms of public recognition. In fact he is the ONLY porn star, male or female, who is a genuine celebrity. Holmes is a household name, known to everyone, and no other porn star is. Period.

Therefore, all the other porn stars really do not belong in "celebrity endowments". But since there is no "Porn Star" category on LPSG, this is where they are located. Porn stars are not really considered to be actors, although they are pornographic actors. So I do wish posters on LPSG would refrain from describing porn stars as "actors". It's misleading and confusing. Can you name one porn star who became a successful legitimate actor?

Mr. 18 inch (Tony Duncan) has the largest cock in the porn business. It is not 18 inches long, but it is very thick and the longest dick in porn without a doubt.

i can think of a number of porn stars that have made the break out...
harry reems...for one...seka for two...and the chic who lied about her age, sued the porn people she did porn with...won the settlement..and went on to do regular movies..tv mostly

and is john Holmes known because of his fabricated inches or that he died in prison from AIDS? does give one pause
i would submit that the more famous 1970's male porn star str8 and gay would be Jack Wrangler..aka Stillman....who marred Margret Whiting...and if ur not familiar with music...or Frank Sinatra..its unlikely this forum is the place to ramp one up..
Jack Stillman, Robert Stillman was the producer of a TV show in the 60's called BONANZA...Jack Stillman's grandparents owned Dillard's department stores...and yes..Jack grew up in Beverly Hills Ca...on Roxbury Dr. next to Jack Benny, Lucille Ball, Bob Hope and Jimmy Stewart all as neighbors...

Traci Lords :biggrin1: . That's the one star that I was going to name, but yeah generally porn stars don't make it mainstream so I agree with Big John that pornstars and actors should be differentiated.

I think these days Ron Jeremy is a much more common household pornstar name than John Holmes and Ron himself has sorta went mainstream, mostly with cameos. However I'm sure it was a lot different in the 70's and 80's with kids telling John Holmes stories they've heard. Speaking of all this though, has John himself ever made any kind of appearences in the mainstream media aside from the Wonderland news? I'd love to see any kind of sources for this!

I agree. Pornstars was smaller in the old times and I think that man(Samson) from Color Climax videos was approximately same size than Holmes(About 8,5-9 inches).

Thanks for the photo posts, BigJohn. The picture of the two hung Donovans is particularly cool (it says cousins, but they look more like brothers -- I've never seen cousins who looked that similar). I'm pretty sure that that first photo of Kevin Dean is altered, though: I remember seeing the same photo before, and the guy's dick was not that long in it.
