On 1/20/09 Bill Clinton could become the first First Gentleman of the United States. What's your impression of the 42nd President?

Wish he was still president. I will vote for Hillary because we'll get 2 for 1.

Many LPSG polls don't have a choice I like. This time I want "neutral / mixed".

    These things are all relative.

Clinton was a so-so president, but he's a fucking genius when compared with the incumbetent in office now.

Clinton wasn't that great of a president, though he's fantastic compared to our current one. I'm not saying he was awful, either...but I have the same problem with him as I do with Bush. Niether took much responsibility for what happened on their watch; they tried to shift the blame on something other than them and their administatrion.

What took place on Clinton's watch that is even in the same league as the Iraq War, Katrina, illegal wiretapping, and the attacks of 9/11?

Before I comment further will you tell me what happened on Clinton's watch that you rank up there with the mistakes of W?

I'm not saying Clinton's mistakes match up with Bush's; I'm just saying they made some of the same errors.

I think Clinton was passably good as president, so he was vastly better than either Bush, and he was harmlessly entertaining.

But he hooked up with Monica.

See, Monica was a spitter, not a swallower. Remember the blue dress? I gotta tell you, if I were president, I'd find a girl who looked like Chloe V and sucked like Oral Annie. She would be my Special Adviser.

How can you respect a man who puts up with a spitter? Shit, first time she did that, I'd slap her silly.

Add Elian Gonzalez to that list and I would still give him an A.

Whatever his accomplishments in office, (or lack thereof) I always quite liked Bill.

Yeah, I wasn't actually using those to rate him, just pointing out that in my view he had made some mistakes. My rating would be a little lower than yours though.

    As I have said before,

Clinton's mistakes seem to have been less damaging, for the most part. And let's not forget that the seeds of NAFTA were sown by Reagan and Bush the Smar-... sorry, Elder. The Democrats have by and large been a lot more anti-NAFTA than the Republicans.

He was a good president. I think he could do the USA a lot of good in the role of First Gentleman.

I will vote Edwards in the primary, but if Hillary wins there I will vote for her over any republican in the general.
