I don't believe that. What I've heard is that 60-80% of the energy is needed for production. In other words, the yield is 20-40%, but that is a net yield.I totally agree! But neither of those can power an airplane in the foreseeable future.

Yup...possibly. And while we'll then have fuel to drive our cars, who the fuck is going to drive them when we CAN'T EAT!!!!!!!!!

A bad option in a wide selection of good options.

Next...

That would be the theory of bollocks.

Reason to care... global warming = DEATH

Food crop price increasing, we've already been there.

Global warming is too political and stuff, I'm much more for sustainable living.

And no. not food crop price increasing.

Brakes come on over biofuel commitment - Times Online
" A report by scientists from the Royal Society last month gave warning that there was a risk that biofuels could damage the environment because their production leads to forest clearance and contributes to greenhouse gas emissions through the fertilisers used to grow them."

Of course thats just a preliminary warning, the study will not be completed till this summer.

The USA has beaucoup arable land. There's enough for both, to a certain extent. As usual the marketplace will decide the matter. I say "give it a try" ... if it works, fine, if it doesn't then we have the satisfaction of at least trying.

The Searl Effect
John Searl created a free energy generator decades ago called the SEG - Searl effect generator, during an experiment he also dicovered that under certain conditions the device produced inverse gravity effects causing the device to levitate. In the late sixties, he created a team to build "the Levity disc" which basically, is a man made flying saucer. The press were invited to see the device fly and take photographs so you'll find printed evidence.

So talk about free energy not happening in our lifetimes isn't entirely correct, if you do some research on him on Google and Youtube you'll discover a fascinating story about how difficult it is to get new technologies accepted.

They are currently working on a new generation of SEG, and afterwards they will work on a new Levity disc.

What is this thing? It spins, woop te do.

Oops, somehow missed this post earlier. Complete bullshit! Anti-gravity?? Free energy??
John Searl - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It says 'the initial devices were dramatically lost during testing due to a strong anti-gravity effect'. What? They flew away?

Oh dear lord, please, explain.

When people hear "global warming" it pretty devolves into a "left vs. right" type of thing.

When you ask questions like "do you like smog?" you are much more likely going to get a "no" and it seems to be much more uniting to get people who just want to live on a "clean" Earth.

Global warming is just a giant political debate at this point.

No. There is no debate that the world is getting warmer. The temperature records over the past few decades clearly show that to anyone.
The only question is why? There is a large amount of evidence pointing towards this being man-made.

You're right people have stopped debating if the world is warming, but every political debate regarding why the earth is warming involves the phrase "global warming" as such everyone freaks out every time they hear that phrase.

I'm not really sure why you said "No." It is still a giant political debate.

I guess my point is that if global warming is man-made (and I assume you are still undecided on that point given what you have said) then we really should be doing something about it.
We are producing more pollution than at any time in human history, and the effects are hard to predict.

Global warming is a fact, Findfirefox, except it.

I have accepted it. I'm saying that it bodes well to call it something else and just to work with people for sustainable lifestyles.

When did I say Global Warming was not existent, I said the name brings out the worst in people.

Fear of a name... and that that. Dosen't change the facts.

Your post imply you don't consider it a fact.

I'm not afraid of a name! I'm saying that in order to get people to live a lifestyle that would actively help curve the effects of global warming you need to drop the name global warming. What the hell, why is it that such a bad thing? There are negative connotations with the phrase Global Warming.

I do believe its fact and I have for years.

Of course there are negative connotations to the name.

It's killing the planet.

You don't say, I'm sorry Mrs X you have fluffy pink life shortening booby bumps, you say, i'm sorry Mrs X you have breast cancer.

Giving it a nicer name will not motivate people, it will give them grounds to ignore it.

I doubt that, for instance if you say global warming people will almost jump to a right/wrong debate.

If you say "sustaniable living" people will most likely not really understand what that is or having any preconsived notions, and basicly you can spill the same thing as fighting global warming under a different name.

Little trick.
