Sadly I have turned twenty as of 9:30am on the 24th.

Not sure if I should be excited about leaving my teenage years behind. Oh well sorry for the random post just feeling a little odd about the transition and felt like posting since I have been dormant for a while.

Hapyy birthday, vega! :dunce: :+ :toast: :bounce: :headbang: :pals:  :yourock:

I remember my feelings about turning 20. Back then the age of majority was 21 and suddenly, at 20, I found myself no longer a child yet legally not yet an adult.

    Have a great year!

What Pecker said. And really--enjoy your twenties so you have lots of found memories (or blackouts) to talk about in your 30s! Have a good one!!

    Happy Birthday, Vega :dunce:

Those feeling you're having are natural, man, just part of 'growing up'! Always remember that the best age is the age you happen to be at the time. Life is precious, so respect it as you profit from having lived each day.

Thanks for letting us know, fellow LPSGer, here's to ya :toast:

Sadly? I doubt it. I have never regretted any of my 46 (so far) birthdays. There is only one alternative to getting older, and I am not nearly yet ready for it.

Celebrate, brother! Life goes on, and that's a good thing. Look forward to the challenges and rewards each and every day presents to you.

Hey, birthday boy!! And many, many more. I remember entering my 20s, way back just under a month before JFK's asassination — 1963!! And in the intervening years I've had many great experiences and met many, many wonderful people. I hope your years are full of those great blessings. I'm sure they will be!! Cheers to-day and every day!!

BTW: I seriously doubt that you've ever been anyone's "dormat." Was that possibly a typo for "dormant?"

    Happy birthday!!

I was actually pretty happy to turn 20, and leave behind all the negative connotations and stereotypes about being a teenager.

    vega,

The 20's are actually probably the best time of your life. I know I look back fondly on my 20's and realize it was when I was able to be independent, buy material things, travel and have fun. I only wish I would have been more comfortable sexually in my 20's. It wasn't until is was almost 30 that I started to open up more.

Now that I am nearing my 40th, I am starting to feel like some things have passed me by.

    Enjoy your 20's.....

I also struggled with my 20th birthday and remember sitting in my dorm room looking at the clock and wondering how I could keep it from striking midnight.

    Happy birthday wishes!! :hi:

Nothing sad about the twenties, vega! You're starting a wonderful new chapter that's positively ripe with possibilities! I was happy to hit 20 because I was just sure that I'd be taken more seriously.

(Still waiting for that one to come around, actually.....)

Hope it's been a great one and is the signal for a fantastic new decade!

Congrats....from an old guy, who is half way through his 20's. I have yet to find a downside.....as an adult it is harder to ignore my suggestions. Besides you get to leave all the baggage of being a teen behind.

    Happy Birthday, vega!

I found 23 was the big one - you could no longer pretend you were just out of your teens. :)

[Sung to the tune of the "Volga Boatmen" song]

    Happy birthday!
    Happy birthday!
    People dying everywhere, but
    Happy birthday!

You are a year younger than my gorgeous 21 yr old daughter.

    I remember 20 (I think)

It was a grand time in life. I was hick from Idaho living in England. I hated London for the first 9 months and then all of a sudden, I loved it, grew up, and learned people all over the world were fascinating. I've kept that philosophy and have met ALL KINDS of spectacular people. Celebs, hicks, you name it. They are cool in my book. I'm still a hick at heart. :dunce:

I think you said you are pretty much finished lamenting the loss of your teens. You have all new boundaries, and the only problem is resetting them for your comfort zone. But this is when it can be fun.

    You'll do FINE.
You're too handsome not to! :hi:

When you hit the half century mark, I hope you'll look back and smile about it. I am. Lots of tragedy, laughter, and interesting people.

    Happy 20th, Vega!

    Happy belated birthday vega! :toast:

Your feelings about getting older are normal; don't worry about it.
You're not getting old, you're becoming a man.

Getting older is a lot like travelling: it's not the destination that counts but
    how you got there.

By the way, if you were a Canuck, you'd have the legal right to
    vote and drink
