It seems to me that my observation with both men and women who identify as bisexual have a clear sexual preference to those of the same sex. It is as if being with the other gender is okay, but both men and women have a stronger level of lust with those that are like them.

From my personal experience, straight women are tremendously bothered by men lie myself who like both, and find that to be a major relationship flaw. It's essentially why I discontinued deliberately dating women over five years ago.

It's silly to make this observation, but I will anyway. When I watch male bisexual porn actors with women, I don't see the same level of enthusiasm as I do when they're with men, and this goes back a LONG way. Bi guys are my personal favorite to watch, because of their openness.

I don't think it's universally true at all. Most of the bisexual guys I've met seem to have more straight sex. They have occasional gay sex only when the mood hits. Personally I am more attracted to guys myself but I have easier opportunities to sleep with women in my country.

Not true for me. I am much more attracted to women than men. I've hooked up with many more women than men--70/30 as reflected in my preference ratio.

Full disclosure: I'm not out as bi. Nor do is my identity related to my sexuality. Those who ask me whether I'm straight or gay are told to mind their own business.

Also not true for me. The concept of "straight-passing" exists for a reason, too. I don't think generalizations about bisexuality are typically all that helpful. I do feel a stronger connection with other men at least on a platonic level than I did before I was out, probably because I don't have to say "no homo" any time I do the most mildly emotionally intimate thing.

As for the reason for why Bi men in Bi porn seem to be less interested, it's because a lot (though not all) Bi male actors do most of their work inside gay porn. Gay actors tend to be better paid than exclusively straight male actors, since gay actors are likely getting their face on camera and are more likely to be the center of attention, while straight male actors obviously aren't. Therefore, a lot of Bi male actors are probably used to fucking men a lot more than they're fucking women, at least on a professional level.

In my case it just comes in waves.

There are times when I feel more attracted to men; then I feel more attracted to women. Sometimes I feel equally attracted to both, and sometimes to none at all.

there’s not a fixed amount of time for each of these phases, like I could be in an asexual mood for two weeks then spend a month only noticing women…

According to an article I once read this seems to be quite common amongst bisexuals and it was called “the bisexual cycle”.
Has anyone experienced something something like this?

I am very attracted to men, in physical sense. However, my emotional connection is with women; that is not to say that I can't have an emotional connection with men. I just couldn't live in a partnership with another man at the level that I had with my wife before she passed away at any early age.

I would generally disagree, I think most bi guys who have a preference for the same sex end up being labelled as gay. For me, like @Jmush it comes in waves and cycles. I've not yet had a relationship with a guy, but I am open to it.

I have had problems when girls discover I'm bi, they somehow see it as a threat. Whereas, with guys it has hardly ever been an issue. In fact I've had lots of comments like "I wish I was bi, I could fuck whenever I wanted".

And this is the problem with labeling any person according to their sexuality. The reality is that human sexuality is a spectrum. There are infinite points between completely hetero and completely homosexual as well as many branches that don't precisely fit the spectrum.

Although I feel being BI is by definition having fluid sexuality, the emotional And intimate connection is with my wife, but I prefer sex with men for the raw, intense energy and openness is just hotter and more fun!
