They did us all a favor by tearing down BLM banners. Now they CAN"T say they aren't RACISTS.

PRECISELY. And the article below details how they came to reveal their TRUE selves, as well as the settings and arenas in which the right has been raging a racist cultural WAR in America:

Proud Boys' party is over: Trump fans throw tantrums because they've lost more than an election

For years, the Proud Boys have angrily resisted critics who say the group is racist, claiming instead to be for "Western chauvinism." Before the heat got to him and he quit, Proud Boys founder (and onetime Vice co-founder) Gavin McInnes described the group as being "alt-right without the racism." The Boys' insistence that they are absolutely, definitely not a bunch of racists even led to ugly infighting when a splinter group broke off over the refusal of group leaders to commit to overtly white nationalist beliefs.

But on one Saturday night in Washington, fueled by alcohol and rage over Donald Trump's electoral defeat, the pretense that "Western chauvinism" is not a racist ideology collapsed. After hours of drinking and ginning themselves up, the Proud Boys stole Black Lives Matter flags and targeted counter-protesters who were gathered in Black Lives Matter Plaza. A group of Proud Boys dramatically lit a large Black Lives Matter flag on fire, while flashing the "OK" sign, which of late has been appropriated by racists as a "white power" symbol. Vandalism at two historically Black churches, Asbury United Methodist Church and Metropolitan A.M.E. Church, is being investigated as a hate crime. Four people were stabbed in altercations between the Proud Boys and counter-protesters.

... Vandalism at two historically Black churches, Asbury United Methodist Church and Metropolitan A.M.E. Church, is being investigated as a hate crime. Four people were stabbed in altercations between the Proud Boys and counter-protesters.

Vandals hit Black churches during weekend pro-Trump rallies

“This weekend, we saw forces of hate seeking to use destruction and intimidation to tear us apart,” District of Columbia Mayor Muriel Bowser said Sunday. “We will not let that happen.”
...

“It pained me especially to see our name, Asbury, in flames,”
the Rev. Dr. Ianther M. Mills, the senior pastor at Asbury church said in a statement Sunday. “For me it was reminiscent of cross burnings. Seeing this act on video made me both indignant and determined to fight the evil that has reared its ugly head.”

“We will move forward, undaunted in our assurance that Black Lives Matter and we are obligated to continue to shout that truth without ceasing,”
she added.

Leaders of the Black Lives Matter organization decried the attacks on the churches, partly faulting police for allowing white supremacists to “run rampant.”
...

I hope that the churches have CCTV cams that caught these monsters on video. If not, there were plenty of witnesses that will eventually talk.

Let's hope for full prosecution!

KING5.com:
Gov. Inslee proposes state office to investigate police use of force | king5.com

OLYMPIA, Wash. — Gov. Jay Inslee is proposing to create a state office focused on investigating excessive force by police.

The Office of Independent Investigations was proposed by a task force that was established following the deaths of George Floyd in Minneapolis and Manuel Ellis in Tacoma.

The majority of the task force members, according to Inslee's office, "held strong views that the state must create a new, independent agency to conduct police use of force investigations."

Inslee will request legislation during the 2021 session to create the office. An advisory board will provide input into staffing and operations. The budget, according to Inslee's office, includes $26 million from the general fund for prosecutions that result from any of the investigations.

The proposal comes as Inslee enters his third term in office, "putting renewed emphasis on equity as a significant priority."

"He will work to eliminate the systemic racial disparities that exist in different aspects of life, and improve social equity across the state," according to his office.

Earlier this year, Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson launched an inquiry into investigations of police use of deadly force, following issues into the investigation into Ellis' death.

Ferguson's office identified at least 30 law enforcement investigations from 2020 that qualify. Some of the investigations are complete and some are ongoing, according to the Attorney General’s Office.

The inquiry was prompted by a conflict of interest in the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department’s investigation into the death of Ellis, a Black man who died in handcuffs while being restrained by Tacoma police in March.

Inslee also will use the press conference to say he is in favor of making Juneteenth a legal state holiday, commemorating the end of slavery in the U.S.

Thanks to Black women, Jan. 6 started off as a day of celebration. As Georgia's Senate election results started to roll in, the tireless work of Stacey Abrams and other organisers came to fruition when Rev. Raphael Warnock secured a win and Jon Ossoff's chances looked hopeful. However, a joyful morning suddenly turned into an afternoon of terror when rioters, incited by Donald Trump's election lies, mobbed the US Capitol.

Shortly after the ambush on the Capitol, newly elected Missouri representative Cori Bush called for the expulsion of Republican congresspeople who "incited this domestic terror attack" by refusing to accept the election results. Her resolution (Bush's very first, by the way) would likely focus on politicians who openly advocated for objecting the election certification like Elise Stefanik, Thomas Massi, and Kevin Cramer, among others. "They have broken their sacred Oath of Office," she tweeted.

I believe the Republican members of Congress who have incited this domestic terror attack through their attempts to overturn the election must face consequences. They have broken their sacred Oath of Office.

I will be introducing a resolution calling for their expulsion. pic.twitter.com/JMTlQ4IfnR - Congresswoman Cori Bush (@RepCori) January 6, 2021

Meanwhile, Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota pledged to draw up new Articles of Impeachment, arguing Trump — who called the mob "very special" — is a danger to the nation he's supposed to represent. "We can't allow him to remain in office, it's a matter of preserving our Republic and we need to fulfil our oath," she tweeted. Massachusett Rep. Ayanna Pressley demanded the same after witnessing the "unacceptable" attack firsthand.

Our country is beyond fortunate to have these congresswomen fighting for democracy, but that burden can't continue to fall on their shoulders.

California congresswoman Maxine Waters once said, "We [as Black women] are people who are poised to fight, to push back. We are a people who know what the struggle is all about and we don't give up." Like Abrams's organization in Georgia, we consistently see Black women protect a country that doesn't do the same for them.

I suppose this is a "load of garbage" too:

For Police, MAGA Insurrectionists Weren't A Threat. Black Lives Matter Was. | HuffPost
- Before Trump’s extremist supporters stormed the Capitol, cops were accustomed to seeing them as allies.

EXCERPT:

On Wednesday, a crowd of white supporters of Donald Trump livestreamed a fascist insurrection. They filmed themselves storming the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., tossing aside barricades, smashing windows and ransacking legislative offices. They filmed themselves screaming and chanting, exultant that they’d somehow just occupied the seat of American power.

Most didn’t even bother to hide their faces, seemingly unafraid of later being identified and arrested for vandalizing the very place where this country’s laws are made.

Their aim was clear — they even broadcast their intentions on the internet: to thwart the democratic will of the American people by disrupting a joint congressional session in which the 2020 election results were set to be formally certified.

But even with all the warning and time to prepare, the Capitol Police were overrun. At times, and disturbingly so, some even appeared to be accommodating. Livestreams showed cops shaking hands and posing for selfies with these MAGA insurrectionists. Other videos showed the relative ease with which Trump’s supporters trespassed into the Capitol, charging past police and forcing lawmakers to evacuate.

The thing is, the Capitol Police are well-practiced at mass arrests. And they’ve earned a reputation for being unforgiving and cruel enough, for example, to drag disabled demonstrators from the halls of Congress for demanding affordable health care.

So why did cops appear to stand down so easily as a MAGA mob laid siege to the Capitol? Why surrender so quickly to a horde of Red Hats, leaving them to urinate on the floor and loot offices, causing elected officials to flee into hiding? It’s a question numerous investigations will try to answer over the next months and years.

These inquiries will likely conclude that cops were undermanned and that the agencies involved ignored mountains of intelligence showing pro-Trump extremists openly plotting the Jan. 6 insurrection online, in plain sight. (U.S. Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund resigned on Thursday.)

But what the chaos in the capital on Wednesday has already laid bare is how law enforcement often uses a hands-off approach to white right-wing demonstrations — such as the deadly 2017 white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia — while being well-prepared to violently crush movements for liberation and racial justice.

Yet another example of the refined intelligence of the MAGAshats.

If it had been a crowd of African American demonstrators attempting to storm the Capitol Building, they would have been met with firehouses, snarling German shepherds, rubber bullets, tear gas, flash bombs, and/or worse!

ROTFL yeah sure they didnt

I understand... You had nothing of substance to add to the conversation so you pull the old ROFL route.... It’s ok... you just comments you can’t back up...Threats vs murder.... you tell me.... If you are a Trump supporter then that’s your thing, but don’t come with BS because you’re a bigot...incapable of doing research...a liar who, I’m sure, believes and spread lies told by this president ... See the BLM rally is about police brutality, the attack on the capital was about a bruised bitch’s ego..

Don't feed 'EM. "Alternate reality" is all they got LEFT.

Moving along, two new op-eds that examine the disparities between the response to the well advertised assault upon our nation's Capitol by Trump factions, as opposed to that for BLM:

White Supremacy Created the Capitol Assault – Foreign Policy
This is America: Being Black gets you brutalized, being white earns you a pass | Opinion

The brazenness of White Privilege rears it's ugly head, even in low-life bars:

TMZ:
Kyle Rittenhouse Has Beer at Bar with Shirt that Says 'Free as F***'

Kyle Rittenhouse -- the teenager charged with homicide in the Kenosha, WI killings -- seems to be flaunting the fact he's no longer in jail as he awaits trial... based on his t-shirt anyway.

Rittenhouse -- who just turned 18 -- hit up a bar in Mt. Pleasant, WI earlier this week with his parents and enjoyed a beer... according to our sources. As you can see... he was sporting a shirt with the phrase, "Free as Fuck."
...
As we reported ... Rittenhouse was released from custody in late November on $2 million bail. The money was raised mostly by donors -- including actor Ricky Schroder -- who have lauded the teenager as a patriotic hero.

Rittenhouse is charged with killing 2 protesters and wounding a third during the civil unrest in Kenosha following the shooting of Jacob Blake. He was 17 at the time, and was captured on video shooting 2 of the 3 alleged victims ... then walking toward police, who did not even detain him.
