What are you trying to point out? The video she linked was made 7 days ago. At that time there were no actions being taken against Dr. Williams. Now, as of only two days ago, there are stories that show us that he's been put on leave. It still holds that he wasn't fired, and being put on leave isn't necessarily a disciplinary action, it can just be a precautionary move. Really all that can be said about the video is that it's now outdated. That doesn't make it fake news. And I don't think it would be in the spirit of charity to assume that MG was aware of the update.

Whites aren't getting any special treatment, privilege, what they receive is a normal behavioral response because they aren't seen as a threat. And sure white people steal too but when the thieves are most always blacks of a particular age group you'd be an idiot not to eye them more closely. Blacks will point to this as white privilege when there isn't an increased level privilege at all it's just that blacks in that particular neighborhood have had their privilege reduced or revoked because they've displayed a pattern of bad behavior. An owner who may have started out with good and fair intentions in mind when they opened their store learned through past experiences they can't trust a certain demographic with the normal level trust.

Instead of demonizing white people, slapping this ridiculous racist label of privilege on them, perhaps you should blame the long line of black criminals who degraded the normal level of trust for you in that particular store?

Sure, the majority of black people aren't thieves, are decent people, but if you're a shop owner and black teenagers are consistently ripping you off you're going to distrust that demographic. Fuck, even black shop owners will display the same level of specific scrutiny. It's not white privilege or racist it's just common sense.

Her argument is basically a defense of racial profiling and stop and frisk policies that target minorities in particular. I think we'd sound equally foolish if we suggested white males should be held in suspicion because serial killers are of that particular demographic.

Right, and I know the temptation is to be like "We're talking criminal behavior so who cares, just keep your nose clean", but there's two problems.

1) Differences in treatment of criminal offenses aren't the only places where systemic racism crops up. Job applications like I mentioned are another one. You can keep your nose clean as a whistle (are whistles actually clean? People get spit inside them. I digress) and this stuff still bites you in the ass and as soon as someone finds out you're black, or even suspects you're black, and opportunities to advance yourself and live the american dream get slammed in your face.

2) This differences in treatment of criminal offenses is one of the ways the system uses to break up black families. So many jokes about black fathers not being around and it's the same people making the jokes that are throwing them into jail for petty shit (failure to pay court costs, smoking a joint, etc). Even bail gets set at values that are impossible for poor people to pay so even if you're innocent your homelife still goes to absolute shit once you get caught under the LBS boot. Obama was trying to address this (I won't even say "trying". Obama was addressing this), but Jeff Sessions has turned that dial completely back because if there's one thing a white southern gentleman cannot abide it's uppity negroes having an actual opportunity to compete in America.
