I saw a topic about racist porn actors (can we really call them stars?). And one of the mentioned actor told about being called f*ggot twice by black dudes on the street. After that he said what he thought about the blm-protests going on.

He did not say he is against it. He said that joining a protest means taking a risk with your physical health. Then he asked why he should risk his health for the protestors when a lot of people protesting don't support lgbt-rights. (I think he meant that a lot of black people are anti gay so why should he fight for their cause. And let s not be politically correct: homosexuality is in general not accepted in the black community. I dont want to discuss this 'theorem'.) If they will go to pride marches then he ll go to blm protests, he said.
---------

So, what do you guys think about what je said?

I ll go first. I think all minority/oppressed groups should support each other (women lgbt muslims black etc.). Unfortunately that kind of support doesnt happen.

Why should a gay guy stand up for discrimination of black or muslim people when those people think he is a f*g who ll go to hell? (Example: in France there were protests against the way police treated muslims. A couple of weeks later there were protests against gay marriage and guess what : muslim organizations were participating.)

Isn't this the purpose of intersectionality?

The problem is that people dont perceive discrimination as something that all minority experience in the same way. People think the discrimination they experience is worse/worth more the attention than other forms of discrimination.

Maybe it *is* worse.

So the only instance you should stand up for something is when you're getting something in return? Sounds very Trumpian. You stand up for the idea of what is right and what is wrong not the particular actors in that role.

If I recall it was Obama, the first African-American president, that was the first president to support marriage equality as well as a host of pro-LGBT policies.

FACT SHEET: Obama Administration’s Record and the LGBT Community
vs.

The Trump Administration dramatically expanded discriminatory anti-LGBT policies

I think Obama is great and I think Trump is a piece of shit. Hopefully now you wont imply anymore that Im a racist. (Im also not white.)

In an ideal world we should all stick up for each other. However, it doesn t work that way.

A lot of gay people are very liberal and are against discrimination of black people and they are pro welcoming refugees from Afghanistan/Syria etc.

A lot of muslims and black people are against homosexuality.

Im not saying supporting islamophobia or approving police violence against black people is ok. However, i do understand that gay people are not willing to go out and join a blm march.

That's one bland pot of whatever it is you're trying to stir up.

Why are people always being such delicate snowflakes?

Is the black community in general anti gay? Yes. It s as simple as that. Addressing that is not racist or something like that.

Take your stale soup and swallow it.

You took the back road but I figured this was your destination. I'd like to see what data points you have to support that statement.

And BTW you being "not white" is meaningless in this discussion and what you are and what you're not.

And of course no intelligent responses like:
" even though some minority groups dont support lgbt, we should still support them. Stopping one kind of discrimination will have effect on other kinds of discrimination."

"We should support blm and make it known that lgbt support blm so we can change anti lgbt sentiments in the black community"

But ok, you guys just keep making sacrifices and taking risks without being a bit critical. Go to blm marches, get teargassed by police.

But DONT start crying next time a black person calls u a f*ggot. U could have done something about it but u didnt.
