^ This. She's an opportunist and an egotist, plain and simple, who wants to maintain her high profile and her following as much and as long as she can, in order to maximize her notoriety, her influence, her monetary gain, and to push her narrow ideology.

The day she quit her job as AK Gov, I said that she was no longer a politician, and was clearly setting out to become a money-making 'media personality', no different than Joe Scarborough or Jerry Springer, or anyone else who uses politics as a springboard into being a high paid celebrity.
You gotta remember, this chick was NOT rich before she was picked to be McCain's VP nominee in 2008. Prior to that, her and her husband combined made $200k a year or less (usually much less), and with 5 kids and Alaska's sky-high cost of living, you can rest assured that isn't going to get you very far in life. Making $12 million a year, or whatever it is she has been averaging since she quit, is a completely different reality. I would be doing the same thing if I was in her shoes (milking the buying public for every cent they're willing to spend). I just wouldn't be a sociopathic cunt about it, but hey that's what sells with the crowd she's catering to.
