So I'm doing an experiment of sorts. Not going to get too medical here as this is a forum for ideas and opinions. And I did just start working with a cardiologist having a 48hr monitor and stress test coming over the next few weeks. Im 62 and have hypertension so I take a 5mg generic for Norvasc. Keeps me at 120/88 in the am. 114/73 in the pm. I also a 10 mg generic lexapro for my anxiety issues. That's the baseline...

If I'm anxious I take CBD. Though it lowers anxiety, it does not affect my BP much. If have some cannabis (usually edible in the evening but sometimes vape), my nighttime BP drops to 95/55.

I'm going to note this along with my daily BP recordings and bring it to my doctors attention. Now I know some sativa strains can agitate ones anxiety. But this is a Sativa (Green Dragon... I know it's just a name) is measuring 32mg of THC! And it lowers my BP. And it's not a couching Indica. I end up in my studio playing guitar for hours!

Anyone else here checked your BP before and after THC?

I have next to zero experience with weed and it’s components.
However, I’d be concerned if my b.p. dropped that low. High is definitely a danger, but too low isn’t good either.

I will fllow this. Don't use any THC products, but fight BP. I think it is stress related in my case which makes it jump all over the place. When calm I run 110/55 with a pulse of 50 to 57, when wired it will jump as high as 185/110 with pulse still in the 55 to 60 range. I take several BP meds, have a mild heart condition (small blockage in back of left ventricle) and an enlarged heart. That could be thick walls from genetics, or from running my ass off go control stress. I dont take any thing for stress and most the time I control it, but on those days when I lose it the BP suffers.

Mine has often dropped that low. As of yet the cardiologist has not been concerned. The high swings do bother him. His goal is to keep pulse in 50s, and drop cholesterol total into the 80 or 90 range while controlling inflammation, and keeping BP in the 110/70 range. It like riding a camel through the eye of a needle.

No (known) heart conditions here. But like I said, I'm scheduled for a 48hr holter and then a stress test. Like you though, I know most of my issues are with stress. I agree with "riding a camel thru a needle"... On the one hand I have hypertension so BP meds are there. On the other hand it's caused from stress so it's treating a symptom of an issue I can't seem to get my head around.

One thing the doctor said was to hydrate a lot more. He said we all wake up dehydrated from the night. Add coffee, and up goes the BP and stress. He said try and get 16 ozs of water in me before I go out the door in the morning. I'm trying that now. I did find my BP dropped only 10 points last night.
