I often pop a boner as the result of vibration from operating my riding lawn mower. Should I "acknowledge" my sexuality as being 85% homosexual / 10% heterosexual / 5% riding-lawn-mower-a-sexual?
In a sense. Sexuality is developmental. Until you've had those experiences, who's to say what you are? Although, your hypothetical scenario would never happen. Show me a sexually active person that hasn't ever so much as had a crush before.
Apart from people not seeing eye to eye, the opinions offered in this thread are mostly going to be slapdash; some hitting the mark and some very far off base, because there's a big difference between sexuality in practice and one's social identity as defined by their sexuality. For instance, my post was about how one defines one's place in society based on their sexuality, whereas yours was about the technicalities of sexual behavior.
By your logic, if a guy has never even had an emotional attachment to a female, he is apparently not straight, bisexual, or gay.
