Body hair, whether sparse or profuse, is genetic. I am Black Irish on the maternal side of the family. My ancestors are from southern Spain and most likely Morocco. Men from the Mediterranean Basin tend to have profuse body hair, as I do. The only place where it is thinning is the top of my head, and no, I do not intend to transplant my chest rug onto my noggin!

I have hairy legs, but not excessive. No hair on my thighs where boxer shorts cover. I have no hair on my chest or back. Fairly long but thin hairs on my forearms, but not upper arms. I like it this way.

Same, hairy legs but not chest. Genetic

My neighbor is like that.

What sucks is if you are a LITTLE hairy. Then you kinda feel like you have to shave it to complete the smooth hairless look. If you're really hairy then just trim down really fine and it'll look great over muscle.

Testifying to ones self is legit, you know your body. But I think more guys shave off undesireable body hair than actually admit it. So it is kind of hard to generalize on the body hair of others, unless you know them intimately.

I think this is especially true of straight guys. For some stupid reason, careful attention to one's body is socially reserved for women, models, and gay men.

So do I. I've said it before, but I pretty much think you've got perfect legs--great shape and moderately hairy. I really hate that you're straight.

Wouldn't it make more sense to call them fauns?

Good point. I always thought Mikal Janos looked like a "faun." (See attached pic.)

I always found it interesting as to how different the era of male body hair was perceived when we are growing. I know, the 70s was the era as the male body hair was thick as a forest at night and some of them even had hair thicker than that, even though there had to be some smooth guys that that didn't have that animal body hair bear look. I guess as we get to the 80s and 90s, the male body image sort of shifted from hairy to smooth since we seen all those movies and some of those classic gay porn, but do you all think that the media shift of shirtless guys we did drool kind of changed the look a little? Just curious to know.

With all due respect, are you kidding? Haven't you seen all the threads on this forum about whether or not to shave? There are a few of us who like our men natural, but a large number of guys here seem to think that body hair of any kind is offensive, and that not shaving it (if you have it) is poor hygiene. I'm don't agree with that attitude, but it's there.

I think it's important to keep in mind that there are some men--very masculine men, at that--who naturally have very little body hair. I've always been attracted to guys who are "half-n-half," so to speak, the aforementioned "centaurs" or "fauns"--those who have hairy legs but are relatively smooth above the waist.

I mentioned Mikal Janos a couple of posts back. Alas, he's shaving his body now. Isn't it horrible?

Yes, I'm another one with hairy legs and hairless chest. Legs hairy enough to be mocked when I wear shorts.

As a kid, I was one of the first of my age to have hairy legs and I was sure I'd have chest hair before anyone else too. It didn't happen, and it still hasn't. Strange, as my father and uncles all have chest hair.

My father's body hair pattern is virtually the opposite of mine. He has a hairy chest, belly, and back, but not much hair on this legs. His thighs have a little bit of hair, but his shins and calves are pretty smooth.

Neither of my grandfathers had much body hair. My mother's father had some chest hair, as I recall.

Hey guys, I have slightly hairy legs but little chest hair. Glad to see I'm not the only one and there are a few of us around!

As for body hair, I'd love to have more leg hair and chest hair but hey thats the way i was made so there isnt much i can do lol. Its become a bit of an obsession for me over the years because my girlfriend likes hairy legs. She has now come to accept this fascination and we have a great relationship.

I think legs are a part of the body like any other and fairly muscular and hairy legs are a great symbol of masculinity. They can make a guy look manly even though he may not have a load of chest hair and thick beard.

So what do you guys think of the fact that you have hairy legs? There's a group which i set up called Male Legs and Feet. Would be great to get some of your feedback on there too.

Cheers

Rob

Body hair is a bit of an issue for me as I have very, very sparse hair on my legs and arms and nothing but a few isolated whiskers on my chest and some light belly hair but at least I do grow a decent beard. ( Oddly I do have a hairy patch on my back just about the kidney level)
