i think you're right.

kinda.
guys have different tastes in guy looks than women have, in general.

This is a gross generalization but I think most gay guys respond to more masculine looking men with strong secondary sex characteristics as opposed to women who find neuter or more gender neutral "pretty" men sexually desirable. Hugh Grant vs. Charlton Heston.

for casual/easy sex.

for casual sex the charm/personality requirement is something like "smart enough to not talk themselves out of my panties/boxers/buttonfly jeans/leather jockstrap"

long term relationships gay dudes focus on things from the neck up. is kinda the same for everyone.

when living with/seeing someone daily/regularly the more import things like compatibility/companionship/conversation become. ya have to like, heck, adore the person taking up half your personal space.

like some personality to exposure equation.

Unfortunately, my dick makes most of the decisions when it comes to choosing a mate. He may be everything wonderful and a nice guy but if I can't get hard he is never going to be anything more than a friend.

He needs to penetrate the first and second sphincter of sexual desirability before entering the promised land.

It's amazing that the study says women think that muscular-brawny men are more violent. I find small men, who need to prove something, as more a worry to me, than a big man who knows his strength and is careful of it.

I find this very interesting and I agree with the point. I have noticed people who have the body a man may or may not think of as 'masculine' are much more likely to be content and controlled. It tends to be the bitter people who wish they were what they are not that cannot control emotions as well and may then become violent.

This is probably not true across the board (roid rage anyone) but I have noticed say, rugby players all tend to be respectful until pushed where a lot of skinny emo kids I live around tend to be cocky and think they need to demonstrate strength to reinforce their masculinity and pride.

Back on topic:

I think it depends on the hosts own build. I mean if a girl was to play sports and work out she may value herself higher and 'demand' somebody of similar stature. I would imagine most girls would say they look for everything in a guy but maybe subconciously?

I have seen a few girls who weren't into my muscles (I'm not big or overly muscley, nor do I want to be) but have admitted if I was fat they would find me unattractive. They just didn't seem to care for muscles.

Other girls may value muscles, but not to the degree of a bodybuilder who may intimidate them. That may also count for average build girls who don't want to feel fat around guys with a toned six pack.

Really there is no definitive answer for this, and it is just another enigma of the female mind to me :p

The only easy answer is, everyone has different likes and dislikes whether subconcious or not. When I find someone attractive, I usually realise it before I even think about it.

Really? Most of my gay friends are really into.. skinny, femine looking guys. I'm always poking fun at them saying that if I were gay, I'd be into real men, like Hugh Jackman and shit. God, he'd make me reconsider my sexuality.

If you like Muscle and little to no attitude...go with the muscle bear or power lifter types :) They like to work out and eat! Personally, with women or men, I find that if a person works out and takes care of themselves, it shows a lvl of pride and the fact they care about their health. They do not have to be anywhere near bodybuilder status...just know how to take care of what they got.

Honestly, I think the stereotypes about bodybuilders being repeated here are ridiculous.

I'm an athlete, and I think a lot of heavyweights look like garbage, but there's a lot of them (bodybuilders with real jobs --- not the heavyweights who's income is the sport) who are getting it done, look good, and have great jobs... of course, you probably haven't met them because they were single for like 30 seconds before someone grabbed them. haha

There is a second part to the research involving the women and their bodytypes.

The women who deemed themselves as highly attractive were more likely to choose the muscular/bodybuilder testerone type as they were confident that they would be able to keep him monogamous and not stray off with other women.

The choice in this type of partner also increased if a woman was ovulating.

On other days however their preference went out to attractive but average joe with more feminine traits (as in round figures) as they were less likely to cheat on them.

I do wonder how we're defining bodybuilder? When I use the term I'm referring to people who compete specifically in bodybuilding, not just anyone who lifts to get better at another sport, or to be healthy, or because they want to look buff.

If we're just talking about muscular men, I have no stereotypes. On one end of the spectrum, I've known guys like one of my ex-es who was working on two graduate degrees while teaching and training to become a Navy Seal. He was 6'4" and built like a superhero with the mind of a scholar. On the other end of the spectrum, there's that wrestler who sexually assaulted me in what I believe was a criminally lame attempt to hit on me. One had the soul of a hero, the other one was a shallow asshole who thought he was irresistible to women. I don't think being buff had anything to do with who either men were.

As a male, I agree with the study.

First, if you are working out for anything but yourself youre doing it for the wrong reasons.

Second, I do agree.....The bigger guys tend to be a little more crazier and I can see the point the study made.

I do have an issue with the "crazy, roid rage" comments. There are MANY types of steroids and they will have a different effect on each and every person. If a person is a hot head natrually...they will be the stereotype "ragers". HOWEVER, a more calm person is less likely to rage. They will be more horny and assertive...but I do not know that many muscleheads that fit in the rage catagory. Of course...many statements made are by people who know nothing about the stuff and only repeat what they hear others say or "report". I did a research paper in college on seroids and steroid abuse and there is a LOT people that do not understand the topic and keep repeating like it's gospel. *ok rant over* :)

I prefer a little meat on the bones, with men and women. Not a chubby chaser, but between "beachgoer" and "muscly" is good. I think there are overlapping personality traits with the physiques mentioned as well. Not stereotyping ALL, just average populace vs. outliers from one side of the build spectrum to the other.

Be honest with us OC: Your traps are made entirely of dihydrotestosterone that you inject directly into them on an hourly basis.

it's not that i worry about roid rage. it's more that i don't have a lot in common with the type of person who takes potentially harmful drugs for either recreational or cosmetic reasons.

i find it a turn off.

99.8kg (220) but nether fat or buff. (medium build)..
Even though I have a 45" chest it's all rib cage though..
