it's not that i worry about roid rage. it's more that i don't have a lot in common with the type of person who takes potentially harmful drugs for either recreational or cosmetic reasons.

i find it a turn off.

I'm the same way ..even more so with smoking. HOWEVER, there is a major difference in something that can be an issue for yourself alone...and an issue for everyone around you. My uncle was a chain smoker...his wife never smoked a day...yet she died of lung cancer from second hand smoke. He basically killed her.

You'd be suprised with some people that you'd have stuff in common with...maybe not attracted too sexually...but if their "recreation" does not effect you... you probably do not know they even have an issue. Just because a person is big...doesn't mean they do steroids. It's just another stereotype. Usually, the people with issues are the one's you'd least expect.

American heart association recommend 3 time 40 min to 4 time 30 minute of cardio per week for optimum conditioning of your heart. They now also recommend to be under 20% body fat for a healthy heart. I say with cardio and warm up and cool down with some resistance training, that 1-1.5 hours in fitness routine 4-5 times per week would be adequate. however it doesn't have to be in the gym. Some of the cardio could be ball room dancing with salsa and your partner, or hiking the trail at a park.

Am I failing at maths? The American Heart Association recommends 2 hours of activity per week, but your recommendation is for 4-5 hours to 6-7.5 hours per week? Is this what you personally do? What you think people should do? Please elaborate.

And it's worth pointing out that 20% body fat should be an upper limit for men, not women.

ha! i expect everyone to have issues!
i've yet to meet a person who didn't have issues.

but i don't need concrete proof of an issue that rates at lear 6 on a scale of one to ten. when it comes to dating, you can lose interest for any reason. i don't feel like i'm missing out.

ill take the giant gentleman over the tanktop trainers anyday. There was a guy who would come into my job and he was definitely WWE over the top size and I would check him out shamelessly and he was very nice. As long as youre not too lazy I dont think it would be hard to keep a guy like that happy.

girls who are "athletic" and/or shallow dont mind super muscles at all (including me lol) and when I get a guy like that it only makes me want to improve on myself or keep up the good work....

this is exactly how i feel about athletic females

If I were to judge a guy solely upon his body and not take into consideration things like his personality and sense of humor and his character or heart, then I would say that I like toned or muscular guys but past a certain level, I no longer find it sexy any more. I'm not going to try to explain it, that's just how I physically respond.

In my opinion...

I guess i am one of the women who isn't attracted to muscles. I prefer a tall, slender toned guy.

I am exactly the same way. Muscles are nice but they have to be toned. Tall and thin are a good combination too.

A study conducted by UCLA's Dept of Psychiatry has revealed that the kind of face a woman finds attractive on a man can differ depending on where she is in her menstrual cycle. For example, if she is ovulating , she is more likely to be attracted to men with rugged masculine features. However, if she is menstruating or menopausal she tends to be more attracted to a man with duct tape over his mouth, a spear lodged in his forehead while set on fire. No further studies are expected.

You should watch The Science of Sex Appeal on Netflix. The studies are really interesting.

I started working out mainly for me. I am from the South where many people are obese or huge football player types (at least in my experience).

Up until about my sophomore year in college I would get females (usually bigger ones) saying "You're so skinny, why don't you eat something?". I wasn't confident enough at the time to toss it back in their faces.

My sophomore year I gained 20 pounds of muscle but had to constantly down protein shakes and chicken (and I mean constantly) to do it. Ever since I've been on a mission to just maintain a healthy lifestyle, add muscle when time allows, and improve on my physique.. but there is a point where I think I would stop myself and scale it back. Too many women I've been with have told me "not to overdo it".

I look at the gorilla juice heads and sometimes think "man, that would be awesome" but in my experience on the beach (and nude beach) even when surrounded by juice head men, I've gotten the majority of attention for the longer, leaner, swimmer's build from the opposite sex... well.. both sex's actually (leave me alone!).

In the end, I do it for me, but once in a relationship I do it for both of us.. she was attracted to both my personality and physique so why would it be fair to change either in the negative?

Pumped to me means, or says, one day it will deflate. Flitting pics of deflating balloon skip through mind. Humans use to keep fit at one time because there were no four wheeled motor carriages to convey them from one place to another. You had to hoof it, and sweat. Now someone has to give another direction on how to lose weight or get fit. Yup...humans have come a long way. Gravity and your own weight will get you fit.

To the threadmakers question. I am attracted to body shape. Oh yeh, like a lean mind betterer...:)

Body type is of no importance to me, their personality and character is what attracts me to anyone girl or man.
