Have you been?
Know anyone who has?
We do not get that level of members here. Aside from a few pornstars, LPSG is strictly hoi polloi.
Haha I know, but I have been surprised.
I know two people personally that have attended.
Of course they are quite influential people, and won't tell me what goes on in there, although I do I have an idea...
It sounds far from Bohemian.
Especially when you find out who attends..
That '(something) of Care' ceremony is weird as fuck.
^ yep, thats the one.
Whats "SPARKS" got to do with the Bohemian Grove?.
Could "Bohemian Grove" be the New AREA 51?.
Remember "They're OUT THERE!".
I first read about Bohemian Grove in an article in the now-defunct Spy magazine; despite its generally satirical slant, Spy occasionally ran some decent pieces of investigative journalism. It sounds like a place where the uber-rich and powerful let their hair down and "relax".
I also read a much more sinister story about BG at the first message board I joined in 2004, Unknown Country, operated by Whitley Strieber, which purported to tell of rapes and drug-assisted mayhem involving very young boys and girls who served as "entertainment" for the attendees, most especially then-VP Dick Cheney. Though that message board's threads' various topics strained credulity, that thread pushed believability so far over the top that I canceled my membership. And bear in mind that I have never really respected Cheney (whom I consider to be a war criminal, frankly) except for his debates with Lieberman during the 2000 election. At the time I thought that the Republican ticket should have been reversed.
Anyway, I honestly believe that 98% of everything one understands about BG comes from disinformation, most probably coming directly from the BG organizers themselves. "Infamy" as a negative concept has pretty much ceased to exist in an age when any publicity is good publicity, no matter how negative, outrageous and unbelievable.
Excellent post. Have you seen the videos?
I've seen dim, grainy vids that were supposedly taken clandestinely. But assuming the amount of security surrounding BG to be insanely intense, I find it hard to believe that what I saw wasn't either a hoax or further evidence of disinformation deliberately planted by BG's organizers to further the "legend".
Richard Nixon was once quoted as saying that BG "is the faggiest thing you've ever seen." Amusing.
This is the sentence that contained that snippet:
Personally, I don't take the Bohmeian Grove very seriously at all.
Thanks, Zeuhl for providing the full and exact quote. I lauged out loud when I read it again. I am old enough to remember his voice, and I can hear him saying it in my head. Just hilarious!
The partners at my husband's last law firm go.
Kind of disturbing what some of the most influential people in the world do at that place
My response is "so?" Of course the powerful are going to meet up and discuss issues such as this. It may be a bit (potentially) unsettling, but it's nothing I wouldn't expect. It looks to be fairly benign and not the Illuminati type club you obviously view it as. To me it looks goofy, and Richard Nixon's description of it as "the most faggy goddamn thing you could ever imagine" seems pretty accurate.
DJG, just because a bunch of rich people are getting together and getting wasted and acting stupid, it doesn't mean it poses any threat to you.
It is the dark hypocritical nature of the bg that bothers me.
And yes I feel these people are evil.
