I had a very recent scare, and required me to have a punch biopsy. I was lucky that all was ok and it was just fibrous tissue. I now have to have a mamogram every year. The lump was almost in my armpit. I had been doing the monthly self-checks, and never checked that high. Now I know that I need to further up. It was 3 weeks of hell. First I had to see the surgeon for the consult, then I had to wait to have the biopsy (can't be done same day) then waiting for the results was horrible. The mass in my breast was too solid for the mamogram to show clearly. It was a very scary time, I'm glad it's over. I will be more aware from now on, and I will make sure to teach my daughter how to properly check herself when she develops breasts.
