I’m curious if any bottoms out there (especially those with multiple playmates) have a proctologist that they see regularly for check-ups? Also what is regularly- every 6 months, annually?? I haven’t done this yet but think I should. Thanks!

Yes get a proctologist if you are having anal. No one talks about HPV but very very contagious and can cause anal warts (that you may not even see or know you have). This can lead to anal cancer so the proctologist will set up a routine check and may also take a papsmear. HPV also causes throat and mouth cancers. Sorry to bring up the down side. Also a condom does not protect from HPV!

Unless you are having serious, chronic issues, most primary care physicians can help you address anything going on related to your hole. Most city clinics, gay community clinics, Planned Parenthood offices, "doc in a box" quick care offices, and independent labs like Labcorp or Quest, can all perform the usual STI checks, including HPV. Going to a proctologist for basic ass care is like going to a CPA to help you calculate the tip on your restaurant bill... probably overkill for what you're needing.

Please everyone do your research on HPV. It is NOT part of a common STD test as they require a biopsy. A common STD test from Labcorp does not check for HPV

  1. 10-Test Panel - We are the only STD testing service that tests for all common sexually transmitted diseases. Our 10-Test Panel includes HIV 1 & 2 antibody (4th gen), syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, hepatitis A, hepatitis B & hepatitis C, and herpes 1 & 2.
However this is what the CDC says:

Is there testing for HPV in Men? No, there is currently no approved test for HPV in men. CDC does not recommend routine testing (also called 'screening') for HPV in men. CDC also does not recommend routine testing for diseases from HPV before there are signs or symptoms in men.

Signs or symptoms are internal or anal warts.
