I believe that some individuals tend to fall for men who they know are not good for them and then act like they have no control over it. In my opinion, this behavior is problematic and makes them the real antagonists in the story. After all, if someone reveals their true character to you, it's up to you to decide whether or not to continue holding onto them. Unfortunately, I have observed that some people lack the self-esteem required to break away from such toxic relationships and get addicted to them instead, prime example gay men when rejection issue.
