have they gone put of fashion now? They don’t seem to be popular here in the UK it’s all briefs and boxer briefs.

Is it the same everywhere?

I mean the normal, loose plaid kind of boxers.

Still wear plaid boxers from time to time but always go for trendy boxer briefs if meeting someone.

Agree in the UK its mostly a tight boxer brief world out there at the moment.

They do seem to be losing favour here in the States as well. BBs and trunks appear to be the underwear of choice, and briefs are making a bit of a comeback.

I only wear boxers after a shower at home, if I’m going to bed soon. Otherwise, it’s briefs all the time.

I can echo all of those sentiments above.
I used to be a boxer shorts man 24/7 but some friends of mine, who themselves had been boxer shorts guys, had switched to briefs and were suggesting that I do the same. Reluctantly, I tried briefs, and immediately loved them. Went out and bought a bunch of briefs to replace my boxer shorts.

They are fine for lounging around the house and for sleeping in, but for my daily underwear under pants it is always briefs.

I have actually read a couple of clothing marketing reports that reported that sales of boxer shorts were down and sales of boxer briefs and regular briefs are up. And just recently I noticed that the underwear Joe Boxer, which was founded to provide men with interesting, colorful, whimsical boxer shorts, now shoes more boxer briefs and regular briefs on their page.

The old baggy loose boxers are a joke! I have seen some men in those things that look like a clowns costume!

Ha but a few years ago they were all the rage! My question is if they have now disappeared?

Not yet disappeared but not nearly as common as they used to be. It is worth noting that boxer shorts became popular at the same time that pants were getting more full cut, some would even say baggy. Boxer shorts are comfortable to wear under full cut pants but now as pants are getting more slim cut, fewer pleats, even the skinny jeans and pants, boxer shorts just don't fit well under them. I have seen guys trying to stuff their boxer shorts into their skinny jeans and it just does not work. So boxer briefs and regular briefs are more common because they are more comfortable under slimmer cut pants.

There probably are other reasons but that is one of them.

Definitely agree - but not sure that I would say tight boxer briefs.

I've always liked a bit of airspace down below, so for many years I wore brand-name boxers. However, the quality of them has gone right down in recent years, these days they're shapeless, baggy and the elastic in the waistbands is so cheap and shoddy that they often barely stay up.

In my recent purchases I've shifted to boxer briefs. They hold up well, they give adequate (but not tight) support and are beautifully sculptured to fit - certainly the Under Armour ones that I'm wearing at the moment are. It's a pleasure to wear them.

Boxers may not be good for very hung guys for out in public, but man nothing like a huge sausage hanging out of a pair of boxers. Love to kneel in front of that guy and loo up at home as I get ready to open my mouth and...

My screen name SDBG stands for San Diego Boxer Guy. I switched from briefs to boxers back in 2006. I also own briefs and boxerbriefs; I rarely wear briefs, and only occasionally wear boxerbriefs.

A few summers ago I discovered sleek fitting, microfiber knit boxers from Nautica at Costco that are my favorites. They are made from thin material that moves with me - not like old fashion broadcloth boxers that I wore previously.

I went to the local Nautica outlet store and found their brand of cotton knit boxers. Both the microfiber knit and the cotton knit are very comfortable. I wear them as my daily wear.

I'll be the first one to admit that briefs and boxerbriefs look the best on a fit guy, but when it comes to what is comfortable for me, boxers are a winner.

Good I hope so. These were the worst thing to happen to men since individual shower stalls in locker rooms. When I was in school 70's into 80's), EVERY guy wore tighty white briefs. Boxers were for grandpas only. Any guy who even attempted to wear them was laughed at. Before you know it, briefs were the object of ridicule and baggy boxers were "cool." A great mystery. As others point out, if you need support, boxers are the enemy.

Ugh. Not me. Can't stand all that material bunched up on my thighs. I've never understood what's comfortable about boxers.

When I was younger that's all I wore was boxers in the recent years I have completely outsourced boxers. I just can't have everything swinging around for obvious reasons now I'm a boxer brief guy or just briefs and trunks and occasionally the funderwear lol anything tight with a pouch usually works for me
