Huh? These dogs LOVE to fight. They can't WAIT to get in the ring. Does a dog need to consent to be taken hunting? How would he do it, in writing? lol. I'm fucking lost.

Also boxers and fighters are indeed free to walk away. But it's difficult for them to do so when they can make much more money risking brain damage and permanent injury for our entertainment. I suppose when the trainer lets go of the dog he could turn and haul ass instead of obeying his instincts. Then he could go try to find his own food and probably get ripped to shreds by a pack of coyotes or starve. Ah, freedom.

Dogs don't love to fight, they are taught to fight by being abused. Why would a dog have to consent to be taken hunting? The dog is not in danger when it is taken hunting. Did you ever think maybe boxers and fighters just like the competition? Do you think they start out making big money? Majority of fighters never even make it on tv and don't get all that money for fighting. You can't even compare people in boxing or MMA to dogfighting. If people were abused until they went insane and just wanted to kill things than you could compare the two.

So you don't think that many professional sports athletes have adopted a 'gangsta thug' attitude? The kind that glorifies smoking pot, disdain for authority, and denigrating women?

How would you explain the image that pro athletes are protraying? The run-ins with the law from gun possession to drugs to DUIs to etc?

Most sports athletes don't get in trouble with the law. All types of fame have people that get into trouble with the law whether it be actors, sports, musicians, politics, etc. These sports players probably would have ended up getting into trouble with the law even if they weren't sports players. I don't see anything wrong with them smoking a little herb either.

Agreed. I'm not sure if pro athletes commit more crimes per capita than 20-35 year old men in general, but I doubt it. We hear a lot about the bad ones.

I have no problem with pro athletes taking non-performance enhancing drugs - the ban levied by pro sports leagues on recreational drugs is pretty much legislated morality, as opposed to an attempt to maintain competitive balance.

You know, you're right; chris Benoit might've been in deep shit had he not remembered to off himself after murdering his family.

QFT (as in, "Quoted For Truth")

I want to see someone rationalize what this guy does to his dogs:

"Guard dogs"? What good is a guard dog when it's in a cage like his are?

Michael Vicks is a horrible person who does not have any morals and apparently no conscience. He should be put into a fight against his will and see how those animals felt.I hope and pray he gets his ass terminated I may be a Christian but it is disgusting anytime i hear about any kind of abuse:child,animal,spouse,etc..Hopefully justice will be served for ONCE and he will pay for his crimes.
