Every white boy between 18-22 on IG looks the same now. Thick chains, oversized hoodies, shaved fades but long curls on top (some of which are only there due to the grace of a perm), a dangly cross earring. Like they're annoying as fuck hahaha

My thoughts are it’s in “trend” for these young white suburban kids to mimic black folks today. Just like it’s on trend for a lot of white gays to mimic a caricature of what they think a black women is lol. Partly bc black music (hip hop) is the number one genre of music today. It’s just cringe to me bc being black is not a trend to those who are actually black. These white kids on tik tok do not actually act like that In real life so it’s weird to look at sometimes when people over do it. I really don’t care that much about it, tbh. It’s cringe but I’m not gonna scream culture appreciation every time I see it. Its not worth my time. It’s just young folks being young.
And just because black folks (some) use Ebonics when we talk and because we have our own language to communicate does NOT make us ghetto or does not mean we have “ghetto lingo.” Do some research on why we use Ebonics. There are a lot of successful, educated people who grew up in the suburbs who use Ebonics in every day life, we (black people) just know how to code switch to maneuver through corporate America. It is what it is. Some of y’all love to throw that ghetto word around every time something pertains to black people. Stop.

I think people should not care that much about what someone looks like. If he wants to have curly hair and stuff just dont bother with it. If he thinks he looks good in whatever cloth, hairstyle, acessories it should be enough.
