Temp bans have always been around - arliss got a week's time out sometime last year, quite early on in his celebrity career , some others* I can think of not in the Nagging Nine :biggrin1: ** have had 7 day temp bans in the last few months. It isn't new, it just seems to be something the mods have decided to use a bit more liberally.

* I won't name them because while arliss, surely the Paris Hilton of LPSG at this stage, loves a bit of attention not everybody feels the same.

** Or should that be Nagged Nine - maybe 4 of one and 5 of the other? But I wouldn't care to say which and whom.

Well, until now I was not going to voice my suspicions about Whopper-Lee on the boards, as they developed in the course of correspondence with him; but I should explain what was behind my suspicions. Some months ago I had a friendly correspondence with Whopper-Lee. At the time he had only one photo on his gallery, and I wrote to him to ask him why he didn't post others. He said that he was no good with cameras and computers, but eventually he came up with three other photos that he sent to me, asking for my opinion of which he should post. One of them was a photo of an image of a big dick in a porn movie on a TV screen, so I told him that he shouldn't post that one! It was actually that photo that convinced me that he was a fake, though the absurd stories of his personal history as a "buck boy" or whatever it was and his inconsistently affected dialect had raised my suspicions.

There are lots of fakes here, but WL was one of the most elaborate. I say "was," as I assume that he will be going away as soon as he finds this thread, but on the other hand, there are fakes who just refuse to stop faking even after they have been exposed.

Ah right - I hadn't gone back to the page he posted on - when he was banned yesterday it just said 'Banned'. I guess they've introduced the 'Temp Banned' category for clarity.

The stories seemed too good to be true, and I too noticed a range of literacy that suggested the ebonics stuff had to be affected.

I don't recall ever seeing "temp banned" before. The nagging nine had "banned" stated until they were given a reprieve a day or so early.

I think it might have been harassment if sb666 didn't have gallery pictures that plainly showed him to be a young guy, because then monster's accusations would have been unfounded.

The fact that sb666 did have pictures showing he was not an old man took monster's blathering out of the realm of speculation and down to its usual label of utter stupidity.

While harassing someone for being duplicitous absent any evidence will get you sanctioned here, apparently being a complete fucking idiot in the face of exculpatory evidence is freely allowed.

The Temp Ban option has been available to the moderators all along but for some reason, if it were designated, only the word "Banned" appeared on the public board.

I did an administrative tweak to change the Banned label to Temp Banned and we're going to see, when the period has automatically expired, if the Temp Banned label automatically changes, too, or if I'll have to go back and change it manually.

Wasn't there a link to this? And didn't I have a post commenting on the pic in question? Did I not click the "Submit" button, or has something been "edited"? More interestingly, that blog has suddenly disappeared. If you do a Google search, you can still view the cached version. Scrolling down to the first pic below "Counter", shows the clip in question. If it shows up as a broken link, right-clicking on it, and selecting "View Image" still brings it up. What I found MOST interesting about the pic, is that in the gallery where it's also posted on here, NOT ONE person, in all five pages, ever called out that it's very obviously unsafe sex, when typically any mention of this subject is jumped all over, when it's seen here. Just what flavour of Kool-aid is this guy passing around, and how is he getting so many of you to drink it?

Yeah, and I'm just not getting how/why. Although referenced situation was before my time, from what I've osmosis-ically gathered, this situation is very DMW-esque. The difference this time, is that one of the main hunters that exposed DMW is unusually disinterested and not commenting, and the other is posting messages that people should just "ignore someone who posts fake pictures". Again... not getting the how/why.
