Breakfast

Favorite that I intentionally don't eat hardly ever would be a full American diner style breakfast. Chicken fried steak, two eggs over easy, hash browns, and some toast. I value my arteries not being clogged, though :p

Favorite that I use as an easy breakfast before work would be two shoyu tamago. Soy sauce eggs.

Favorite that I really have to be in the mood for would be waffles, real maple syrup, and crispy bacon. Or cinnamon coffee cake. Or an omelette with mushrooms, cheese, and bacon.

Favorite fancy/special occasion breakfasts I've made are Nutella stuffed french toast + strawberry compote. Or cinnamon pancakes with a maple/cream cheese glaze.

Gosh there's so many awesome breakfast/ non-breakfast things I like.

Fresh croissants with cultured butter and apricot conserve.

Eggs Florentine on split, toasted English muffins.

Eggs Benedict on split, toasted English muffins.

Oeufs en Cocotte au Saumon Fumé.

The full English.

Kedgeree.

Smoked boned Scottish kippers on toast with sauce hollandaise.

Coffee. Anything else is a bonus.

In the summer, I really like lots of fruit with some sort of carb (toast, muffin, etc) and an over easy egg to keep it light.
Eggs benedict is always a fave, but I don't usually feel like making hollandaise from scratch for breakfast (I will for brunch)

I really love making french toast with Pannetone, adding Grand Marnier to the egg wash before griddling. That's my go-to for an "impressive" breakfast at home in a flash.

What’s your favorite breakfast? Looking for ideas to change things up

I'm a typical Brit, I love a full English.
Bacon, sausages, fried eggs, fried mushrooms, grilled tomato, black pudding, hogs pudding, fried sliced potatoes, baked beans, hash brown's, fried bread all with a big bottle of cola and a round of buttered toast.
Making me hungry typing Lol
And no I'm not one of those women who are always watching their weight Pmsl X

Actual favorite? Waffles. Real butter. Real maple syrup, or killer bee honey. Pork sausage, with the honey or syrup on it. Scrambled eggs with cheese, spinach and salsa in them. Do not let the sweet, sticky stuff touch the eggs. That's nasty. Close second? Still waffles. Fried chicken.

Mmmm.

I don't eat that. I'm trying to live.

Favorite breakfast I actually eat?

Scramble the following: one egg, 3/4c egg substitute, 1c any leafy green veg +1/4 c bell pepper and onion, 1/4c salsa half a haas avocado, 1/4c full fat cottage cheese. Season with garlic, black pepper, chipotle pepper, cumin. Might need salt. I put the salt directly on the veggies. I don't eat much salt. Top with a pinch of whatever shredded cheese is around. This is very filling. I don't eat breakfast until lunch time. This keeps me satisfied until supper.

Either French toast made with French bread with eggs, bacon and hash browns..

or huevos rancheros. Actually, yeah. Huevos are better. We just don't made that as often for some reason...

Dear husband made French toast with some stale Challah, and I could feel the diabetes crawling up!

My husband is the breakfast maker in our house. When he's not around I usually just have a protein shake after my workout.

But this morning he was back in action... eventually. The menu was fresh crepes with homemade caramel and crushed walnuts with a side of strawberries and hand-whipped cream. I'm so scared Wilfred Brimley will appear at my door with a diabetes flyer.

Sometimes he kind of goes overboard with the meat, especially when it's just the two of us. He loves bacon and pork sausage and can never decide between the two, so we usually have both.

But his omelets are outstanding. He usually fries bits of scallion and red bell pepper before he puts in the eggs. There's a handful of medium cheddar inside and another as a topper.

He watched this video on how to make hash browns, and he's become a master! I know it takes forever, but I don't know his recipe. But they're awesome!

I can boil eggs and make a mimosa. I'm pretty sure I can scramble, too.

Hey, anybody in the market for a dozen half-day-old crepes? He seriously does not know how to halve a recipe.

I ate leftover peach cobbler *wins at life*

Red Lentil porridge with sweet potatoes is my absolute favorite breakfast. If I am not currently a vegan I will add a fried egg to the top. So fucking scrummy.

There's a really easy way to make hollandaise, actually!

it's just not your culture. Blood pudding, whether made with blood, or Kitchen Bouquet, or whatever other substitute is delicious.

In the Scottish highlands they make one with cream and a decent belt of Scotch whiskey and it's very gently poached in salted water until set.

I am willing to smack a priest to get my hands on some French Toast.

I hate to say this... But the Cheesecake Factory has the best French Toast outside my hometown.
