I think HBO have really toned it down. Those first 2 felt like a cw show.
Could not disagree more. The blood stuff was legit horror-movie chilling, there’s cursing and sexual chemistry everywhere, and Titus Welliver (Lex) is an A-list actor add. I think this season is kicking it up a notch

Well, as a huge horror fan, I can honestly say I've seen more disturbing things on Supernatural.
I didn't catch any cursing, and the violence wasn't up to much for the previous seasons.

You’re judging based on 2 episodes. They aren’t going tame simply because it’s not in the first two episodes.

The show has definitely been toned down. When they moved the show to HBO Max (after season 2) is when creative went to shit. It launched as a show on the DC Universe streaming app and they may have had a bit more of creative freedom. The vibe is really different. This show shouldn't be bad. The casting is on point, but the writers just suck.

I slightly disagree with you...But that's bc I don't think the writing (much less the show as a whole) was ever that great. They did/do have a good cast, I just don't think they really had aim/direction they wanted to take the show....and I highly doubt we get anything worthy before a cancellation, bc I fell discovery is dead set on building out the DCEU far more cohesively (and family friendly) than anything else. Which is sad ...bc I'm still trying to see his buns flex
