It seemed like in the 90s and early 2000s, EVERY teen-20s movie star guy was always wearing boxers every single time in both tv shows and movies. Whether it was just a shirtless scene where the boxers would be hanging out of jeans or a pantsless scene where the guy was wearing his underwear, they always seemed to be boxers.

Now, it seems like boxerbriefs and briefs are making their return to the big screen. Ryan Reynolds, Chris Pine, Zach Effron, the list goes on are all wearing briefs and boxerbriefs on the big screen. True Blood has had several briefs scenes.

It really seems like that trend has helped bring briefs and boxerbriefs back to the forefront to finally crush the Boxer Rebellion of the 90s and 2000s for good.

I've noticed more and more of my friends are also now wearing boxerbriefs (not many briefs) so that now a strong majority are wearing boxerbriefs.

Have yall noticed the same trend? Or have some good screen shots?

I like boxers and boxer briefs, and that's what I wear. I know there's a good number of guys who like briefs, but I don't. I just relate them to ME BEING A CHILD, so I just find it weird for men to wear them. But that's just me, there's a lot of guys on here who love briefs.

I wear boxers, briefs, boxer briefs and square cuts - base me decision on what pants/shorts I'm wearing that day. And sometimes I go commando. It all just depends. I even have a couple of novelty thongs for when I wanna make the hubby giggle. To me, the underwear chosen is wardrobe dependent.

Interesting. Several guys on these posts have equated briefs with their youth, and I guess I cab understand that in a way, but many of us swear by our briefs. Boxers make no sense at all, and boxer briefs, to me, seem so redundant; why do you need that much material on your thighs?

I protest the idea that wearing briefs is something boys do; real men wear them.

As for the idea that hollywood is promoting them, lot's hope so. I've often said that it would take only on celebrity and some good P.R. work to bring briefs (and jockstraps) back into the mainstream of America's men. If they can take an entire generation and put them in boxers (which is what happened just after I graduate from college), then they can do the opposite and promote briefs. Go for it, I say!

ive never gotten the "briefs are for kids" or "briefs remind me of me being a child" argument.

i wore briefs as a child, then switched to boxers as a teen, and boxerbriefs/briefs as an adult.

my father and grandfather have worn briefs for as long as i can remember.

i guess i just don't get it.

but then again, i associate boxers with teens. maybe i returned to the briefs as a sign of maturity somewhere in my freudian thoughts? haha

Personally, I wear boxer-briefs. Now, I wear them for comfort, but that's it. I do think a nice bod looks even sexier in a snug pair of form fitting boxer briefs. And although I'm not partial to tighty whities, I do think sexy briefs (such as simple black) look good too.

It distributes the tightness more evenly. Normal briefs can cause chafing as well. The only downside I found is boxer briefs can become excessively stretched out after a while and is only good for a few washes (I'll have to try a smaller size)

With the advancements in fabric composition nowadays briefs are much more comfortable than they used to be. If you do buy briefs (heck any underwear) it should be some type of modal fabric.

Which is why I relate them to children, Lol! Although, I never had a dad in the house growing up, so...

I really cant equate briefs to being a kid. Worldwide its still sells the most for male underwear. Also it is the bare necessity with regards to what is needed for underwear and it doesnt have any of the extra material that the other material tries to necessitate.

ya i dont get that either. guys in their late 30s-60s (the "older" young crowd and our parents) have worn briefs their entire lives (as a whole of course; i get that there are of course exceptions just as a trend)

boxers came on the scene with rappers and teenagers for the current generation.

so seems counterintuitive. youd think that boxers would be associated with teenage adolescent years, especially not with adulthood being that adults overwhelmingly wear briefs as a majority

I haven't found that to be the case. I don't find the "tightness" (not sure what you mean by that:do you mean the snugness of the pouch?) to be an issue. Good briefs (2xists) have a fantastic pouch and there's no question of "distribution" being anything but natural.

I think the reason Hollywood usually showed boxers in previous days was modesty. They were reluctant to show the bulges which are normal in briefs. Briefs have never gone out of style, altho boxer briefs have taken some away. Some guys like the pressure of a brief on their cock. Others with draggy balls find that boxers don't give them the support, and boxer briefs sometimes let a ball slip out.

I've worn boxer-briefs since my late teens to current times. Over the past few years I've gotten back into straight briefs. C-IN 2 makes a great selection of both, comfortable and durable.

well i would say here in the uk, boxers - boxerbriefs are worn by 90% of the boy's-teen's and men. and underpant's are worn by men over 60 years old. you only see the odd older guy in boxers.
I myself was brought waring underpants and only switched over to boxers in 1985, but i still ware underpants from time to time, works for me.
