How many people Like Buffy?

I loved the show, still love it, and will regularly pull out the DVD's to watch, even now, so long after the show ended.

Your thoughts?

LOVED it. Resisted watching it for ages, because I was convinced I would hate it. Would turn over if I knew it was coming on next. Accidentally watched an ep when I turned over and it was already on... and got hooked.

Seasons 2 & 3 were my fave - I cried like a baby when Buffy killed Angel (something I can only admit on an anonymous website ;p )

Not sure I have a favorite episode; thought there are so many that stand out, like "Surprise" and "Innocence," "The Wish," "The Body" "Once More with Feeling" "Hush" "The Yoko Factor" "Fool for Love," and "Tabula Rasa" are among the top episodes.

Not sure about a fave character, but One of my favorites is Spike. Something about him is just great. The whole Bad Boy attitude, and completely unrepentant.

Total Buffy lover. And the Angel spin-off! I was a Spike lover, in all that he did. Sizzling sex, and his first love scene with Buffy? Where they tore the house down? Who wouldn't want that?

I cried many times during the series. 'The Body' being the worst for me.

Oh, I miss that show so much. Still pull out the DVDs and watch it now and again.

Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Why I was a bit disappointed that a spinoff with Faith never happened. She was the powerful, violent, cynical Slayer you would have loved.

Oh God, Buffy was one of my all time favourites when I was a Teenager!
I have most seasons on DVD, but haven't watched them in forever, so I only vaguely remember all the episodes.
But I'll have to say that Spike really was my favourite!

Y'know. She is free to express her dislike of the show. Plus, she actually explained why she didn't care for it. Unlike you braying like a jackass.

So, how's about YOU kindly STFU?

The premise of the show always put me off. Anymore, the vampire deal is just done to death which only further compounds my disinterest.

*raises hand and joins the crowd of Buffy addicts*

I have to go through and watch it through from beginning to end at least once every two years.

I'm a season six girl. It has almost all of my favourite episodes, and who could resist the Buffy/Spike dynamic?

Spike . . . *drools* . . . most fuckable TV character ever created.

That scene was pure porn!!!!

Did I mention that I badly want to fuck Spike?

Edit: Although it isn't my absolute favourite episode, Doublemeat Palace deserves a mention. Maybe it only really resonated with people who've worked in fast food places?

The fucking in the alleyway scene in that episode was hot as hell. I want.

I have to completely disagree with you Dragon! Ok the first season is, meh, but by the time you get to season 3 and definatley season five, she is hardly an insipid blonde flouncing around. She is a real character, and more fully fleshed out than half the vampire show "heroines" today.

It sucked monkey ass that the faith spin off never happened! I loved faith and her redemption storyline that happened on Angel, and then her return to Buffy.

She had some of the best lines, delivered by one of my fave actresses!

Well the STFU was harsh, but I loved SMG in that show as well.
I don't give a fucking shit.
Note to self...Dragon doesn't give a fucking shot. Not just any shit, but a fucking shit:tongue: Glad to now i won't be getting THAT for my birthday!

You share my bday and you dont REMEMBER the episodes *gasp!* lol I have them all committed to memory, even the not my favorite season season 4 ons! But you liked it and lved spike, so you are redeemed...lol

To be fair he DID explain why he liked it: he liked SMG in the show. It is as valid a reason for liking it as any. He didn't need to say STFU, but Dragon's got thick skin. She won't break from a comment. Also the lack of an exclamation point at the end of his "STFU" makes it read like a "Whatever" in my head. Meh, that could just be me though.

I love the series so much i have the first 6 or so in cannon season 8 grapic novels , along with the Angel season six graphics (first 3 anyway, moneys been tight)!

I have too many favorite episodes to list, and truly they have all been listed. I always liked "Checkpoint" from season 5, especially Glory's convo with Buffy in her house:

"She's sassy! I like that! (re: Dawn)...and i'll kill her. I'll kill your mom, i'll kill your friends...and I'll make you watch as I do..." LOVED Glory!

and the scenes where the Scooby gag are getting interrogated:

"And what's your relationship" (to willow and tara

"Friends"

"Best friends"

"girlfriends"

"Lovers"

""Yeah we're in love, we're gay lesbian type lovers!"

(interviewer)"I meant with the Slayer?" (all dead pan like)

"oh...friends...just friends"

lol

While the show as whole is my fave TV show ever, I kinda agree with Dragon on the insipid blonde point.

Buffy herself totally sucked as a character. It was the rest of the Scoobies that made the show.

Note: I do not count Angel as a Scoobie, despite his honourary position as one. Angel also sucked.

For some reason this triggered a memory of the scene in The Initiative where Spike gets all impotent when he tries to bite Willow. That scene made me giggle .

Why don't YOU kindly explain HOW I was braying like a JACKASS?And please, kindly review her most gentle post regarding it.
My apologies if it came off wrong; I just happen to admire SMG, and sometimes react hostile towards any negativity towards her.
In all fairness tho, I actually like BLOOD RAYNE better than Buffy tho.
No change in my liking SMG, even tho the movie topped the series in droves.

My son, damn him hide, got me hooked on the show...

"The Body" and "Hush" were brilliant. The whole idea of 'wasting tv time' with NO words...brilliant. The 'flapping' sound in Hush still gives me chills... and the whole idea BEHIND once more with feeling.... amazing (basically what if ALL your unconscious thoughts were made in song (that you have serious doubts about your marriage, that you were in he....aven, NOT hell, etc...).

nice to see the actors doing well now....

I loved the show and the concept. I enjoyed the "damn, I broke a nail!" style humor, which I felt made fun of ditzy blondes and was the whole point. I loved that the series took the trope of the girl running from the monsters and turned it on it's head by having her turn around and kick the monster's ass. I loved the character development Joss Whedon puts into even the most vapid shallow and evil characters, showing us how they got to be that way so that we learn to empathize with them, having them experience things that give them depth and change them over time, so that even the most hateful or hated character can eventually redeemed by their own actions and choices in the end.

I love Joss Whedon's work.
