I know this sounds stupid, but 4 years ago my wife of 10 years told me my dick was kinda small. I told her I thought it was average, but not small, she insist kinda small. This hasn't runined my life or anything, but it still bugs me after 4 years. I have even considered getting an opinion from a pro girl. I know I am sick, but when your wife tells you it is kinda small it is like a kick in the balls.

I think she was active in her youth?? I also thought I was high side of average in length and girth. Never had a small comment, that's why it was such a kick in the nads. Clearly she's had experience with a large penis sometime (in her youth?) but it seems strange to bring it up out of the blue after years of being with you. I think I'd ask her what she's basing her opinion on, and why she said what she did - what was the point? What did she hope to accomplish by saying that?

If it's still bothering you and you've been thinking about it for 4 years, you need to ask questions and get it cleared up. Your penis is not small; small is below 5" in length and 4 1/2" in girth. Have confidence that she's misguided, influenced by some experience or conception formed years ago, and stick to the statistics. You still need to clear the air - she may not know how deeply this hurt you.

Well I haven't been obsessed by it. I guess curious more than anything. I have no basis to judge except pornos and internet, so I thought maybe she was right. After that from time to time I have read all of the studies on size on the net, so I know statistically it is a bit above average, but hell who knows. I am not crushed or anything. Luckily I have plenty of self confidence. Just wanted to know one way or the other.

No it wasn't a malicious comment, or intended to be, just her saying hey it is kinda small. She is not big and has never had kids. I guess she just likes them big. We never really discussed it. Honestly I am fine with the size. I would not mind if it were bigger, but until then I always thought it was big enough.

We are still together, so maybe she was having a bad day.

Perhaps it wasn't malicious, but it was certainly unacceptably insensitive.

It is not right to point out that a person is deficient in ways that cannot readily be changed. If she didn't like the way she was treated in bed, that would be one thing; it can be changed. But penis size cannot readily be changed so even if you were deficient, which you are not, it is not the sort of thing which should be mentioned. Even if it were deficient, any "problems" that it created could readily be overcome.

So far as brutal honesty is concerned, there may be a place for it, but only in circumstances when more diplomatic honesty has been repeatedly proven to be ineffective.

If that was a one time only sort of thing, probably it should be overlooked. But anyone who repeatedly demonstrates such insensitivity needs counseling in how to relate better to other people.
