HOWEVER, I cannot STAND the lining in shorts...I always cut it out. LOL the elastic pulls the hair on my legs, and most shorts elastic aren't made for guys with bigger legs...very uncomfortable.

I agree. I've got pretty muscular legs from years of dancing - not massive by any stretch of the imagination, but good enough that when I had visited the doc to get my dodgy knee looked at, she said, "You've got nice meaty...er good strong quads." However, if I were to buy lined shorts where the liner was comfortable, they'd look like clown pants! What's wrong with making athletic shorts to fit people who actually exercise rather than for people who wear them as fashion items to give the impression they do and also to cover their scrawny thighs?

No such thing as "too visible" in sports. Men are just going to be visible, period. Look at tri guys, or bike champion shots like these. Nowhere to hide so they don't bother. Important thing is to keep weight down in a race. People know that's the goal, so nobody cares about what shows.

Take a long loose shirt to wear before and after. During a race, there's too much going on for people to spend time contemplating your crotch. If you don't worry about it, they won't worry about it. So don't worry about it.

I totally agree bud. I dont worry about what I am showing or not showing when I am out cycling etc.

Men are men. Stuff is gonna show ;)

Interesting discussion. I have thought about get a pair of cycling shorts for some time now. I have never used them before and have always wondered what they would be like.

I must admit that I could probably get over my tiny bulge showing off, but there would also be no place to hide all my fat. :D

I wear them several times a week. they're a real necessity if you mountain bike or ride long distances. I honestly don't worry about how visible my junk is. i also generally wear these on more relaxed rides that may see me stopping somewhere public.

honestly that's not really why they are worn. They produce less drag and in theory keep you cooler due to claimed moisture wicking properties. They may also reduce vascular pooling in the legs.

wouldn't be caught dead in cycling shorts. I think people take the whole bike riding experience too seriously. Do you really need the spandex cycling outfit to ride your bike? Not trying to offend anyone who wears the gear, just don't understand if you're not a competitive cyclist.

I don't like the saddle bludgeoning my boys. do I really need another reason? Am I taking my testes too seriously? I'm not sure if you've been mountain biking on anything other than a comfort saddle but it will tear your taint up. I wear them because they're more comfortable and it's not a big deal. I don't do it because I think I'm going to shave a couple tenths of a second off of some time. by your flawed logic i don't need a helmet either. nor do I need gloves to avoid blistering. None of these things are necessary but if you want to avoid discomfort as to better enjoy the experience they help a lot.

I don't like chafing, I don't like how conventional shorts bunch up or catch on the nose of the saddle, I'd end up wearing spandex underneath anyway to keep my junk in place.

The first time I rode in cycling shorts, I thought, "Holy shit, this is great! I don't have floppy fabric going all over the place, I don't have to worry about them slipping down and showing my ass crack, etc etc etc..." Even so, I usually wear bibs now, because they stay put even better than shorts with a waist.

One I start riding, the dick "goes in" and remains in shrunk state as long as I am riding hard. Blood goes to legs/heart instead of the dick. And if I get off the bike to get something to drink, I really don't care of people look.

As long as you don't touch or play with your bulge through your lycras, then your bulge remains just that: a bulge. As long as you don't play with it, people can't really complain.

It's a matter of comfort and endurance. I couldn't make it over 20 miles in conventional shorts without my crotch getting sore. Even when I wear high quality padded cycling bibs, saddle soreness becomes an issue at about 40 miles. When I enter a 50 mile event, I'll do what it takes to optimize the experience and to try to beat my previous time record.

The big deal in the cycling community is when people who are obviously not competitive cyclists wear team outfits such as Team Astana and Team Columbia. They are called "poseurs". If you lay out big bucks for a high end bike, it's expected that you have the proper gear to go with it - helmet, gloves, shoes, bib/shorts, etc. It's all about being properly prepared to get the most out of your rides. Just leave the team outfits for the guys who rightfully earned them.

BTW: The Tour de France is in July. Check it out. Those guys fly on their bikes.

Hello All,

I cycle a lot as a commuter and recreational. I use cycling short for longer rides or it=f I am going to be one the bike a lot but off an on. For me the padding and comfort otherwise is great.

I always show a lot in these shorts, see below. I always position my cock to one side; up does not work for me as i go over the waistband. I like to wear fitted boxers underneath to help keep my cock and balls in place.

Over the year I have gotten more indifferent about showing a big bulge, but when I do care it I show I wear black and a shirt that will cover my crotch. The shirt really is sufficiently; few people really look closely enough to see a bulge under a loose fitting shirt. Of course if I get hard ..., but that is very rare.

I have had times when I did get semi when stopping at a connivence store for a drink or something, and did not have a long shirt. And I could feel all the wide eyes on me for sure, but I am used to that. It is just a matter of what your ok with I suppose.

good luck

Thank you for your wise words. I see on the pictures that you have a verry verry big bluge. I think I must not embrassed.

Dude be proud of what you have. If you bulge is big, so what! I ride a bike and I am pretty big with huge nuts, so I can relate. About 15 years ago when I started riding (I'm 33 now) I bought a Bike "flexible" cup. I don't think they make them any loger. It is made of sometype of rubber and I slip it on the inside of my bke shorts. It kinda holds my balls in place without moving around and make my bulge more "repectable"
