Ladies..
Have you started looking for swimwear yet? Have you noticed how impossible it is to find a bathing suit online? All of the models are super skinny with big fake round cantaloupe boobs! I can't possibly tell how supportive a top is when the models boobs stand out like bowling balls. I know half the suits I want are either going to squish my boobs into the dreaded "uniboob" or my boobs will just hang out if there is not enough coverage.
They REALLY don't make bathing suits for D cups and over unless they're ugly matronly ones. ugh!

You know we were talking about this in another thread. I have given up on bathing suits. The fashion designers expect the following

A: your skinny and flat
B: your skinny with normal breasts
C: your fat

THATS IT end of the line for designers!!!!!! I tried up to a size 18 in the top and still couldn't get coverage for my breasts and I had to tie the darn strap in the back in a knot and I would have to pin the straps up they don't go down to my navel. Why do they automatically assume your grossly fat if you have big breasts? Come on an 18!!!!! WTF is going on in this country that they cannot make a decent bathing suit for a normal women with an average body and large breasts? Thats the last bathing suit I tried on. I will tell you just what I told everyone else. I wear black or another solid color bathing suit bottoms with a colorful bra (orange, red green) and a spaghetti strap thin tank over my bra. I CANNOT find a bathing suit that works. The last one I bought I had to alter myself. I'm sure I could go to some fancy store but honestly it's all I can do to try on more than one thing before I leave the store. I cannot stand trying on millions of clothes. Being a woman sucks because nothing is made the same. Anyway I'm ranting. I refuse to spend $100 on a bathing suit!

I HATE SUMMER TIME!

Simply because it's inevitable that this thread will soon be flooded with guys expressing this sentiment, let me just get this out of the way and say...

let 'em hang out!

There. Now that that's out of the way, ladies, you may continue and discuss this issue among yourselves in peace.

exactly!!! If the top has coverage then its big and billowy everywhere else. Its insane to me how designers just dont get it. I cannot find a decent summer dress or top either, the freaking cup size wont hold me in. So my BF says "thats hot" and I'm like no..its not hot when the bottom of the cup seams hits right mid boob, so in other words you dont hang out the top, the top just slides up and you look ridiculous.
Your bra idea makes me wonder if I could buy a colorful bra and somehow cover it with lycra fabric or make it look more bathing suit-ish!

I had to stop my treadmill to rant with you again! You most certainly can alter it, but I find it a waste to spend so much on a bra and have to put more work into it. I hear it all the time from my BF, why don't you wear a dress like that... then I remind him I did and you took me too your church and the Catholic priest stared at my breasts through out most of the sermon... which was in another language so he could have been talking about them for all I know:tongue:

Anyway anything with spaghetti straps I wear a bra under. I hate it but I have to or the bouncing is very noticable. I would love to step back a size or two. If I really wore the right bra I would be in something horrible and outrageous I'm sure. I know I'm bigger than what I wear now, I just squish into it to save money and to save on finding some n the right size. But now I'm seeing all this UK stuff and I'm rather excited. Something else I'll be buying that is not American made, but oh well.

tall girl rant..

my torso is much longer than the 5"4" average clothing makers seem to hold as sacred proportion. one piece suits... think crotch garrote :irked: i'm not buying a thong suit, so, thanks for the thought, but i really don't want the entire crotch panel tension lodge up my ass.

tall girls also have issue with low rise suits.. i fripping adore low rise suits.. but one wrong move and i am flashing the top of naughty patch to the world.

tshirt cover ups are just tshirts to me

to this day i rock a pair of aussie bum square cuts and a tshirt. i refuse to destroy myself self esteem with a bathing suit shopping trip.

Ha! I'm 5'7! While I'm not extremely tall I'm taller than most women. I freaking hate shopping for jeans! My waist and my hips from crotch to belly button is longer than the 2 inches low rise seems to allow. WTF! I wear a lot of boy shorts.

Flash floods :)

I agree 100% on cartoonville. I also refer to it as "Damnnnnnnnnnnnnn" male reaction. IRL I try to downplay the goodies.

I havent really done a lot of mens wear, besides their tshirts and boxers. I have yet to understand why womens short sleeves are all capped so they rub your armpits all day. Does this bother anyone else? Could you scream at that feeling? Because I hate it!

I guess I should feel lucky, I don't get many PM's from this site.

Anyway, back to OT I was talking about this in the other thread. I have the same problem. Too much top, too little top, the one piece camel toe...Things sticking out that shouldn't stick out etc...

Nothing like spending hours in fitting rooms only to take nothing home.

I have the same problem with jeans. They are either too big at the waist and to small in the length or to small in the waist and too long in the length.

*grrrrr*

Honestly they need to start making more specialized stores/sites for curvy but not fat women. It really does seem like the expectation of most designers is if you have any curvature to you you're overweight (not true). Or here's a bright idea be able to order a 2 piece with specifications where you select you bra size and waist.

And if you are overweight they assume you're 6 feet tall. I was very overweight for a while and had trouble finding anything that fit. All the larger sized clothes are made for very tall women. It's bad enough when I'm a healthy weight but way worse when I'm not. Big boobs, ultra short and an extremely high waist (so high it's actually hidden by the huge boobs) does not make for easy shopping.

Swimsuits are even worse. I can only buy them as two separate pieces but here all the places where you can buy the top and bottoms separately also charge a fortune. As I said in the other thread - luckily, I don't like swimming!

Yeah I specifically said I try to by each piece in a different size, but the band is to large on the top. It's not as easy as people think it is. Then it never matches or its crazy ugly :(

Very nice thread so far. I agree completely with you ladies. I have the same issues where I stuff myself into a 36DD bra so I don't have to go buy the expensive custom ones too! Swimsuits are even more of a challenge.

I have tried on 20 suits before and walked out of the store empty handed. It is the worst feeling in the world that you spent all that time and got nothing out of it. I now order all of my suits online and make sure that they have a flawless return policy. Sometimes I have to buy size 16 to 18 tops and I can always wear a size 6 bottom. I don't complain though because being top heavy is always a plus any way you look at it!

My 2 cents LOL

Funny story! Years ago when I was with my ex boyfriend we were out on the beach and one of the strings to my top snapped. We drove of the beach to the nearest WINGS and I had to find a new bathing suit in about 20 minutes. It was horrifing. It ended up being this horrible bright pink color with a large brown flower across one breast, and another on the tush! It was soooooooooooo ugly! But I had to do something. And I had to buy the string kind because it was the only thing I could adjust. UGH!

I've got a similar story but not swimsuit related so a little off topic . . .

I was at the club one night, back when I was a young-un, dancing away, when my pants split (trousers for the UK people). I was wearing a g string so little was left to the imagination. I had to get some of my guy friends to act as a wall for me and escort me to my car. Very, very embarrassing.

Awesomeness! I have never had pants related incidents. I have popped a bra strap before too, fixed it with safety pins. I was at a conference there was no way I could leave. It's amazing once you explain to other women what is going on the things that they were offering me out of their purses! Once I used a mini sewing kit to fix one for another girl in a dance club:tongue: Women rule!!!!! Men have no idea the crap we deal with!
