Awesomeness! I have never had pants related incidents. I have popped a bra strap before too, fixed it with safety pins. I was at a conference there was no way I could leave. It's amazing once you explain to other women what is going on the things that they were offering me out of their purses! Once I used a mini sewing kit to fix one for another girl in a dance club:tongue: Women rule!!!!! Men have no idea the crap we deal with!

I love the sewing kit fix! Oddly enough, it's my guy friends who usually end up helping me out. Another revealing story, and one that's a little more on topic . . . I was at a concert and had forgotten to change bras before I left home. So there I was, jumping around in the mosh pit wearing a shelf bra, when my boobs popped right out of both my bra and my top. Yet again, my guy friends did the wall thing. Then they started pulling t-shirts out of their bags for me. There was no way I was going home and missing the concert so I stuck a t-shirt over the top and kept on moshing! I'd never have the guts to do that now. But it was guy friends to the rescue again.

Tall here too, that is yet another issue.
The Bravissimo site is not bad. Again though we have the breast implants so it's hard to tell how much support there is, and why can small or even average girls walk into to Target and pay $20 for a bathing suit but anything over a D cup is never less than $100?

I think it's because they assume we are overweight so we just wear a cheap beach moo-moo or our rich hubby's bought us our big ta-ta's and he can buy us our gold plated swim suit's:cool: Who know's what goes on in designers heads! I know it's not some women actually are built different, who'd have thought it!!!!!!!!!

having shopped there i can promise you that, though some of the models are plastic, they're designed to support real women. my friend, who can tuck her's into her jeans as a party trick, looks perky in bravissimos.

In England loads of shops sell bikini tops seperately to the bikini bottoms so that way we can buy exactly what we need.Asda Walmart have Katie Price bikinis and also Tesco,New Look,M&S and Debenams have bikinis for big cups sizes inc seperates.Matching sarongs and pareos too.

Have you started looking for swimwear yet? Have you noticed how impossible it is to find a bathing suit online? All of the models are super skinny with big fake round cantaloupe boobs! I can't possibly tell how supportive a top is when the models boobs stand out like bowling balls. I know half the suits I want are either going to squish my boobs into the dreaded "uniboob" or my boobs will just hang out if there is not enough coverage.
They REALLY don't make bathing suits for D cups and over unless they're ugly matronly ones. ugh!

um I've seen pics of you and I have to say either option (uniboob or hang out boobs) is perfectly fine on you my dear

exactly!!! If the top has coverage then its big and billowy everywhere else. Its insane to me how designers just dont get it. I cannot find a decent summer dress or top either, the freaking cup size wont hold me in. So my BF says "thats hot" and I'm like no..its not hot when the bottom of the cup seams hits right mid boob, so in other words you dont hang out the top, the top just slides up and you look ridiculous.
Your bra idea makes me wonder if I could buy a colorful bra and somehow cover it with lycra fabric or make it look more bathing suit-ish!

have you considered a sports bra?

tall girl rant..

my torso is much longer than the 5"4" average clothing makers seem to hold as sacred proportion. one piece suits... think crotch garrote :irked: i'm not buying a thong suit, so, thanks for the thought, but i really don't want the entire crotch panel tension lodge up my ass.

tall girls also have issue with low rise suits.. i fripping adore low rise suits.. but one wrong move and i am flashing the top of naughty patch to the world.

tshirt cover ups are just tshirts to me

to this day i rock a pair of aussie bum square cuts and a tshirt. i refuse to destroy myself self esteem with a bathing suit shopping trip.

this post was pretty hot lol
the other day I saw a girl in my store and she must have been close to 7 feet tall, I felt so bad for her I was like thinking to myself aside from bras and underwear we've got nothing she can wear
(maybe shoes)

Very nice thread so far. I agree completely with you ladies. I have the same issues where I stuff myself into a 36DD bra so I don't have to go buy the expensive custom ones too! Swimsuits are even more of a challenge.

I have tried on 20 suits before and walked out of the store empty handed. It is the worst feeling in the world that you spent all that time and got nothing out of it. I now order all of my suits online and make sure that they have a flawless return policy. Sometimes I have to buy size 16 to 18 tops and I can always wear a size 6 bottom. I don't complain though because being top heavy is always a plus any way you look at it!

My 2 cents LOL

for you I think we can say it's two plus's (Wowie!)

I've got a similar story but not swimsuit related so a little off topic . . .

I was at the club one night, back when I was a young-un, dancing away, when my pants split (trousers for the UK people). I was wearing a g string so little was left to the imagination. I had to get some of my guy friends to act as a wall for me and escort me to my car. Very, very embarrassing.

I believe a spanking is in order, pics? btw I'm sure the guys were glad to keep an eye on things for you lol

if you had to be a man for a day it would probubly kill you

once you hit the land of 5'11" not even bras fit right. :frown:

it's not just tall girl torso that's longer, everything is bigger.. my shoulders are wider, the measurement from my collar bone to my breast bone is longer :sigh: i look like a line backer compared to the average sized woman.

and my feet are huge.

umm i am not quite as circus freaky as i am making me sound. i just feel that way shopping in the ladies department.

That's it, im learning to sew. I'm finding another excuse to spend an afternoon at Hobby Lobby.

Note: Some of you guys need to go jack off BEFORE you sign into LPSG. For realz.

Rofl, I'm not sure where you live but check your local craft store a lot of them offer sewing classes, and sewing machines are super easy to use:smile:

Yay for home sewers! I went to fashion school, so designing is what I do....Now I just need to hire a seamstress! The problem is, I can find amazing, beautifully made clothing in my size...in designer stores. Under that it is considered a cheaper price point an no one pays attention. The cheapest/ best fit, and well made is Norstroms. I make my own tee shirts because I hate inferior fabric, and I can't find good fabric under $45 for a basic tee shirt. Ridiculous! I buy one in every color, so $360 on tee shirts. Ha! Honstly, vintage and thrift stores in LA are amazing as well, if you are lucky enough to live out here. I find designer stuff allll the time! The strange thing is, I see so many people pass up designer cashmire sweaters, and grab a faded old navy tee shirt....Weirdo's.
