You know I just remembered I did get clothing, I got one of those spanx body suits to wear under form fitting dresses for $3. I HATE my belly. It's not really fat, just soft. UGH! I'm hoping swimming will help correct it, cause I want to have my BB repierced, so I'm working extra hard to loose 15 pds and get some abs. I'm all about a deal though, I've been impressed with everything you all have shared with me. I had never heard of these places. I ordered a boobiedoo sports bra to thanks to dolfette. If I could actually find a suit I didn't need to alter I think I would cry. And then go swimming :eek:P

Wow, this thread is riling me up too... being a little 'thicker' than your average model, Ive also pretty much given up on bathing suits.
Also, does anyone wish they could just wear a tank top? God, I'm envious of these skinny girls who can wear them... I look like im trying to work the streets when I wear one :(

okay, I might be talking out of line here, who knows but according to what they say on What Not to Wear, taking things to the tailor for some alterations to your size isn't actually that expensive. Of course they were talking about pants, so i dunno, and I was also too lazy to read through the entire thread, so forgive me if this has been exhausted as a topic already...

No problem:smile: What you are saying is logical. However I have the ability to alter my bathingsuits. I have done it before. I think most of us were ranting because we want to walk into a store and buy something that fits without having to alter it:wink:

Imagine everytime you buy a pair of underwear or pants or a shirt or whatever you have to spend more money or more time changing it.

When I was younger and thinner I used to wear tank tops regularly. In the heat of the Aussie summer I'm more concerned about staying cool than dressing modestly.

Altering your own swimsuit..OK I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to try this. Do you just buy one too big and sort of take it in in the right places till it fits??

Yes! What I would do is buy the top so that the cups FIT over my breasts then take the shoulder straps up and the back strap in.

Honestly I'm just to lazy and aggraviated to do that anymore. I swim at home for the most part. Though Cougardomme has given me the idea to search ebay. I just received my boobiedoo bra and my bravissimo bra. I am searching ebay but being extremely cheap and stingy since I just spent money on top coverage:smile:

I altered a bra recently. I'd lost a fair bit of weight, but of course my boobs were still huge. i didn't think I'd be able to squeeze my boobs into a smaller size so I just took in the back of my old bra.

yea, I can imagine, I only just turned 21, and my weight has fluctuated a lot at school, so I haven't gone shopping seriously, since I don't know what my size will settle on, so I can't relate really, I just wanted to share that idea I've heard on the magic box. It would piss me off to alter something I bought every time.

yeah I'm from south carolina, so I feel your pain with the heat thing... but the constant oogling stares make it way too awkward :/

I'm average height and about average weight for my height but my bust to waist ratio is significant and I'm a D cup. I was complaining to a girlfriend about the fact that buying bras is difficult enough (I can find a D cup but not usually in a small enough band size) but shopping for bathing suits is torture. Since we live in SoCal, I was complaining about this given how many women out here have had boob jobs. She had an interesting point - most women shaped like me HAVE had boob jobs so maybe they don't wear bras as often or worry as much about support in a bathing suit; supply and demand. Hmmm. :ponder:

Let them oogle I say. And if I don't like it I'm quite happy to glare back :biggrin1:

haha while the attention sounds fun in theory, i find that in real life its just creepy... plus i feel like staring back just brings MORE attention... sigh, Also, anyone else encountered the 'guy with sunglasses on at pool, clearly wearing them just to check out women' thing? so obvious... almost as bad as a guy wearing goggles in a pool, heh.

Yeah it can make me uneasy... but I admit that I love to watch the shift and play of a mans muscles under his shirt:cool: Sunglasses rock!

And I wear googles in the pool, chemicals bother my contacts when I swim plus I need to watch for the wall. Once I slammed my hands into the wall a few times I bought some googles:tongue:
