okay, I might be talking out of line here, who knows but according to what they say on What Not to Wear, taking things to the tailor for some alterations to your size isn't actually that expensive. Of course they were talking about pants, so i dunno, and I was also too lazy to read through the entire thread, so forgive me if this has been exhausted as a topic already...
Wow, this thread is riling me up too... being a little 'thicker' than your average model, Ive also pretty much given up on bathing suits.
Also, does anyone wish they could just wear a tank top? God, I'm envious of these skinny girls who can wear them... I look like im trying to work the streets when I wear one![]()
Altering your own swimsuit..OK I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to try this. Do you just buy one too big and sort of take it in in the right places till it fits??

No problem:smile: What you are saying is logical. However I have the ability to alter my bathingsuits. I have done it before. I think most of us were ranting because we want to walk into a store and buy something that fits without having to alter it:wink:
Imagine everytime you buy a pair of underwear or pants or a shirt or whatever you have to spend more money or more time changing it.
When I was younger and thinner I used to wear tank tops regularly. In the heat of the Aussie summer I'm more concerned about staying cool than dressing modestly.
yeah I'm from south carolina, so I feel your pain with the heat thing... but the constant oogling stares make it way too awkward :/
Let them oogle I say. And if I don't like it I'm quite happy to glare back :biggrin1:
haha while the attention sounds fun in theory, i find that in real life its just creepy... plus i feel like staring back just brings MORE attention... sigh, Also, anyone else encountered the 'guy with sunglasses on at pool, clearly wearing them just to check out women' thing? so obvious... almost as bad as a guy wearing goggles in a pool, heh.
