BUTTER SCULPTURE VOTE
Voting closes at 3 p.m. on July 16.

We appreciate the input of hundreds of people who have voiced their opinions, both positive and negative, on the issue of including Michael Jackson in the 2009 butter sculpture. The ongoing discussion has created a lot of, well, ‘churn.’ Since everyone has an opinion about the sculpture, we’ve decided to put it to a vote and let Fairgoers decide.
The concept of the sculpture will be a celebration of the 40th anniversary of Neil Armstrong’s moonwalk on July 20, 1969. In honor of Armstrong’s “giant leap for mankind,” this year’s sculpture will include an astronaut, an American flag and a buttery rendition of the surface of the moon. Depending on the vote, Michael Jackson would be featured in a small side portion of the sculpture as the first pop-star to perfect and popularize choreographed moonwalking.
Do you think Michael Jackson should be part of the 2009 butter sculpture? Vote Here.

I'm from Iowa. If you don't live there, you shouldn't vote in this poll, because it doesn't really affect you.
:bsflag: WRONG! For your information there are people who make it a point to visit as many state fairs as is possible in one year. They do it on their vacation time. :cool:Also, truckers like my bf like to schedule runs around state fairs because they are FUN! As well as being a great break from stopping at a truck stop.

Frankly, Iowa my dear, I don't give a damn.

I'm from Iowa. If you don't live there, you shouldn't vote in this poll, because it doesn't really affect you.

How does it even remotely affect the people of Iowa? Does the Iowa butter sculpture go on to a national butter sculpture competition of some sort and then on to an international pageant? Could it cause a rift in our relations with Russia or China? Do we need to trade carbon units for it? Have riots resulted from inappropriate butter sculptures?

I respect Iowans because I like them and found them to be far more sensible than many of their neighbors. Surely this can't be that serious, can it?

No, I'm not from Iowa, but as far as this being serious - well, I can tell you that the butter sculpture at the New York State Fair every year is very much a big deal.

(Yes, I'm an upstate New Yorker)

This is obscene. My state is soooo fucked up.
