My partner has bought digital music from Amazon and sometimes they are cheaper than iTunes. Otherwise if it is a whole album we want we have quite a few cd stores that sell used and new CDs. Often we can buy the cd for less that iTunes album price and we can both load the cd into iTunes.

whats is spotify and what is streaming? honestly i don;t know... i either buy music from itunes or bestbuy.

Online streaming is an alternative to buying music, where you listen to music online. Spotify is one of these services (there are plenty of others) you can either have it free with advertisments or pay a small fee and have it without the ads. I got it via Facebook, I'm not sure if you can get it without Facebook. Just suggesting as an alternative

Alas I don't have much money for buying music :frown1:

I have bin buying used cd's since the 90,s I buy them because I like the groups, bands,or artists.I want to hear there whole albume from start to finish. I picked up Genisis "secounds out" album for 4bucks at sound exchange here in tampa fl. The last album I payed full price for was David Gilmour's "on an Island" for around 13 or 15 bucs and felt like i was being robbed.

Don't know anything about iTunes. I have bought individual songs via Amazon (they generally run about 99 cents each except for those "i'm all that" artists who think their shit is worth more), and you can download them to your computer and burn your own cd's.

A bonus is that all the stuff (mp3 downloads AND cds) you buy from them also goes to some "cloud" thingy which you can access at no charge and play on your mobile device using their MP3 player app, which is also free.

I haven't used iTunes in probably 3 years. Admittedly, I do pirate most of my music, but I do still buy the occasional CD, usually at a used record store. Other than that, sites like Bandcamp can be great for discovering new acts, and the music there is usually very cheap.

http:// www. vidtomp3. com/

websites like this let you plug in youtube URL's and download the audio and/or video.

It's like back in the day when you would burn your friends' CDs, or use a tape deck to re-record their tapes.

That was never considered stealing.

Mp3skull.com sometimes has what I'm looking for.

Itunes is getting expensive because they realize that the people who will buy music are a fairly inelastic market, and therefore will pay the prices that it takes to get the music they want.

You may need an Xtra room in your new Apartment, just for your Cds etc Sinclair?

I know. I got tons of cds, vinyl records and tapes. I'm thinking of getting rid of the tapes and some of the records.

why dont you play the music on youtube or something?
or try dilandau

I want it on my iPod for when i drive in the car or when I'm in the train, riding my bike etc.
