There is a great deal of news breaking with regards to Meg Whitman, a Candidate running for the office of Governor of the State of California.

While supporting the party line the appearances are that Ms. Whitman was an employer for a person now appearing to be in this country illegally for decades.

This has enraged many individuals particularly in the hispanic communities in California and may spell bad news for her political campaign.

There are numerous sources for this story. If you want the gory details hit our old friend Google and it will be readily available.

We may never now how much it costs to buy a political office.

Gloria Allred is setting herself up for State Attorney General.

Nutmeg has a bad PR firm working for her. The news coverage on her has been centered on how much money she has pumped into the campaign and now this which will probably be what the media covers instead of any analysis of her pat solutions to California's many problems. Shows you how much $119 million can buy you.

I hate to see how incompetent and useless her Sacramento staff and appointments will be if she's elected. No double gonna be overpaid business world rejects like Carly Failure-rina.

Looks as if she is trying to buy another line for her resume rather than doing something good for the state of Ca.

I could have built her a very nice yacht for that much money. Or two pretty good ones.

hardly the maid is trying to make a buck, but all she'll get is bus ride back to the shit hole they call Mexico.

and as far abuying another line on her resume she doesn't need it. unlike the other frauds that use public service for a fat pay check. times are a changing. i thinl barack and his boobs have been the best wake up call we could have gottren. time to take the county back!

The Sacramento Bee political reporter is saying in yesterday's edition that this could be Whitman's undoing. Her hypocrisy is beyond belief. She has spent 120 million of her personal fortune and she decries illegal aliens and those who hire them. She cant even handle her own household and yet she wants to be governor. She exploited her maid , Nikki, but she decires how she has been exploited as an ex-CEO of Ebay.

Giant crocodile tears for the biggest BITCH of the west in recent memory. GO JERRY BROWN!!!

It's pretty amazing that the California GOP can't find better candidates to run for the big statewide offices. It's amazing that Pete Wilson now seems like a paragon of political responsibility by comparison.

I kind of doubt it. She'd get less press and make far less money as AG than she does now.

I lived through Gov. Moonbeam and his two terms as Gov. was a total and absolute disaster. I hope and pray that the people of California don't give him another chance to ruin California. Gov. Moonbeam & Hussien Obama are a fine pair to draw to if you want Marxist-Socialists to take us further from freedom and liberity

"and as far abuying another line on her resume she doesn't need it.''....Who said anything about need? She is a whiner, she hired the woman and then lied about it and then blamed Brown for her hiring the maid. Nutmeg is about right.

The party is gutted. Corporate hacks are all that remains to fill the power and money vacuum. What is going on now is a media facade bought and paid for with literally billions of advertising dollars. Give the Republican party 4, maybe 8 more years, and they won't be anything but a regional party, unless they totally remake the party to be relevant again... Just like the GOP has had to do every 20-40 years going back as long as the party has existed. It's the nature of being conservative; you're always a step behind.

To be conservative at its most basic level is to be inherently less capable of coping with change. That's how people become 'conservative' in the first place. At some point in their personal life, things start to change, they don't like it, and they resist. So, while conservatives resist society's evolution, they can of course never, ever stop it, which means that inevitably time passes the party by and they become irrelevant. Eventually, they become so out of touch that they are no longer viable, and then there is a giant purge of everything from the past (people, ideas, everything), and the party remakes itself to be more relevant to modern times.

The difference is that this time, when the party remade itself, they didn't purge any of the leaders that failed, and the party didn't align its ideology with our collective reality. Instead, the party has been radicalized, and is trying to take itself and the country even farther back in time.

There is every indication now that the Republican party is being fully controlled by corporate interests, and that they are trying to take the party back to the 1880s in ideological terms. For those who don't remember, THIS was actually the best time to be rich in America, and the worst time to be anyone who wasn't rich. (you know, the other 95% of us) If you tried to strike at work over horrible working conditions that killed and maimed workers with regularity, you would get fired for sure, and would probably wind up gunned down by mercenaries hired by your boss. There was payback for getting hurt at work and being disabled. You were left to die. Government worked for big business, not the American people. Life expectancy was under 50(!!!), many Americans were illiterate and yet business owners STILL complained even then that their taxes were too high and their employees would need to make up the 'shortfall' between the obscene profit the owner wanted, and the steady profit he was getting.

To me, anyone who still remains a Republican today is either a sociopath or really, really stupid. And I say this as someone who was a lifelong Republican until they proved themselves incapable of leading.

I just wonder If she'll vote this time around..After all She didn't even register to vote until a few years ago, because she was too involved in her family and her husbands business..and not checking the mail, apparently wasn't one of her responsibilities..either
    Go Jerry
Dinky 7x7..apparently you have the same mindset as my in laws up in Los Altos Hills and Woodside..They blame Jerry Brown for everything from the Hwy 101/280 freeway interchange(??), Highway 85(??) to the air pollution, to the high crime rate in Oakland..ahh geee..how empathetic..

dinky 7x7 does not understand either socialism or Marxism, hence the description of his brain: dinky. Meg Whitman is a corporate whore. She cares not one WHIT for the people of CA or its problems. At least Jerry Brown has shown a lifetime of service to others. Whitless has shown a lifetime of service to self. Dinky, meet your mentor, Whitless.

Still sad that this is the best candidates 'available'- I still don't understand why a millionaire would spend all of their own money to run for a public office that doesn't pay "that well" and that she could get this far along in the election with out someone thinking to 'spot check' for things like 'illegal housekeeper'... Surely the PR firm would look for those right off the bat? (not choosing a side here, just commenting on how so many potentially great canidates do NOT run for fear of a drunken uncle, failed business 30 years ago, affair,or other skeletons 'lurking' that they don't want the 'media' running thru the ringer- are their any 'pure' candidates any more? no.

I can't imagine the scrunity hell... "wait! look! 17 years ago he bought DILDOS! or....dredging up the picture of you the day you barfed on your lawn guy or...

pollster Rassmussen now has Megabucks Meg down 44- 50 to Jerry Brown, despite the addtional 20 million dollars she is spending on her campaign. I can just envision election night: Megita singing "Dont cry for me California" in her Peron dress. How touching. I cant wait!!!!
