I'm with joeice345, I don't see any real difference b/n prostitution and porn. The difference is the camera and as BobLee mentioned, this then allows a person to become an "actor/actress". I do agree with freya that there are more protections in the porn industry compared to prostitution, but it's not a whole lot extra. From what I've read from current and past porn stars, there are a lot of STDs passed on, including HIV (5 cases), also lots of drugs and alcohol abuse. Granted they have to be able to "function" while on set, but it's my understanding that porn stars will get take enough of whatever to ease the pain.
