Why are they Republicans?

Why wouldn't he be a Republican? The Republican Party is the party of hypocrites: anti-drug types who do drugs; anti-gay types who are gay; self-professed Christians (such as Reagan) who never go to church; co-called fiscal conservatives who run up the biggest deficits in U.S. history (see 8 years of George W. Bush); etc. Republicans say "no" to so many things that it is very difficult for them to follow their own rules.

It's difficult for a liberal to even be a hypocrite. What are you going to catch them on: voting to legalize marijuana but they don't smoke it themselves? Politicians voting for gay rights--even though they're straight? Not giving quite enough money to charity? Only half joking with those examples. One of the few times in which Democrats have been caught being supposedly hypocritical is when they support public schools but send their own kids to a private one. Democrats say "yes" to all kinds of things, which--fortunately--doesn't mean they do them all.
