Thanks for the great response to this thread, everyone. It often seems that the average LPSG member has been here all of two hours so it's nice to realize that there is much more continuity than that.
Pecker, my early LPSG experience was much like yours. I lurked for at least six months, daunted by the reigning "in-crowd" which was even then centered around the indefatigable DoubleMeatWhopper. I only made a handful of posts in my initial year, until someone called "halfandhalf" who is no doubt long gone from here struck up a PM conversation with me about how much he enjoyed my few posts. With that little affirmation, I started posting more frequently (although still probably only 500-600 posts in 6 years!)
The first few years the entire site basically consisted of four posting categories: Sex With a Large Penis; Relationships, Discrimination, and Jealousy; Underwear, Clothing, and Appearance Issues; and The Healthy Penis. That creaky old site would also get knocked offline for days, weeks, or even months at a time, causing some members to experience withdrawal far worse than quitting coffee, smoking, or drinking!
