..that aren't low rise. Damn.

I tried on 8,367,984,023 pairs of jeans in the last couple of days..98% seems to be low ridah!

Even Levis are all messed up now..Since when do 559's (relaxed straight leg) fit like slim boot cut?

501's are supose to be boxy, anti-fit...Now they seem slim to me.

And how come different pairs of levis in the same # and size fit differently?...No quality control..Damn.

Cut changes the fit. As to why they're low rise, no clue. It's a source of frustration for me, as well.

At least we're not girls, where every top is cut high, and every pant is cut low... even in the plus sizes.

i with you on this. Every time i try on a pair of jeans or slacks they seem to be low rise or too tight in the thighs. I live in a military town and the sales clerk was telling me that a lot of soldiers have the same problems buying jeans/slacks

Having lost a great deal of weight, I needed to replace my jeans. Bought 3 pairs of
Levi's from their on-line store. All the same style number, and same size. They all fit differently.

i got some new "Western Cowboy" styled Wrangler jeans at a discount store this weekend- preparation for a visit to Dallas in March. It should be fun to wear those as they're known for drawing attention to your assets :)

If possible, you might check and see if they have the same jean but with a longer inseam. I offer no guarantees, but usually once the inseam passes a certain point (it varies by mfr so I can't give you a number certain) the companies tend to lengthen the rise.

As to why they're doing it? Cost control. Look at the amount of fabric they cut out per jean and then multiply that by the number sold every qtr or year.

I'm going to assume that you're very thin?

I actually have issues with jeans being cut way too high. But, then, I'm quite short and still heavier than I wish. What I'm finding is that, as I lose weight (7" from my waist, so far) the same jeans, in the same cut, seemingly have a lower rise.

I think it's because, instead of tailoring them, they put the pattern on a Xerox machine and just hit "enlarge." The rise on a 32" pair of jeans can be 6" shorter than the rise on the same jeans in a size 42". I tried on one pair of Wrangler cowboy-cut jeans, at my all time heaviest, and the waistband hit my ribcage.

Consequently I am forced to buy low-rise jeans, intentionally, just so they fit me normally.

Try Carhartt or Kuhl.... They are typically cut a little larger in the thighs and crotch and I find they fit great. I used to buy Levis all the time but you're right, the quality has slipped & the style/sizing seems to be made for anti-athletic type guys or skinny college kids...(no offense intended);)

I feel ya, man. I'm super picky with jeans, they have to fit just right. I recently went shopping for jeans. I ended up trying on probably, no exaggeration, 300 pairs of jeans and ended up with 4 pairs. I tried at least 20 different brands. Then you have all the cuts, styles, length and waste combinations. It's maddening and I can't ever hardly find a pair I like. The 4 I did choose were me just settling because I had to buy some for my vacation to a cold place.
