Can edging be dangerous?

I edge all the time, sometimes for upwards of several hours. When I do finally orgasm, it is very intense with lots of cum. Even the next two or three orgasms produce a large amount of cum. However, I have noticed that, in addition to experiencing 'blue balls' like pain, my erection is harder to achieve during that second and/or third orgasm. Especially in comparison to 'normal' sex where I am able to have two or three orgasms of one erection (that stays hard the whole time). I do feel that I have better stamina because of edging.
