unfortunately unless you're a minor, not a whole lot =\ you could send either the person who posted it a message or the website and ask them to take it down, but beyond that, if you posted the pictures somewhere online or sent them to someone then there isn't anything you can do. =\

Try putting a watermark on them saying posted on LPSG and your user name or just your user name.

People might try to post them elsewhere, but they can't claim them as their owm.

I've experienced this a few times, but mostly from people using my pictures and saying it is themselves. Unfortunately there isn't very much that you can do besides watermarking your images and hoping that keeps people away.

Best way to stop them from using the image is not to put it out there to begin with. After that it's the internet and open to all.

    ^^^ Dude knows his stuff.

If you don't want to lose control of it don't put it on the internet. This coming from someone else who's had naked pictures of him end up where he doesn't want them - so trust me, dude, I feel for you. That's why I have no galleries here and statuary for avatars. :s

in reality if you post a photo here, someone else will post the same photo on another site and claim it as their own. :yup:

is like almost every verified woman on LPSG is also a verified woman on another site.. only her name is "KittenCravesCock"

not sure i am jaded and cynical or if i am dead to right with my theory.

I have my pics on two other forums I know of (both my accounts): one is for breast implants, the other is a subby of chat site. Once in a while somebody pings me with a link to a blog or w/e rehosting pics. Don't know what the best thing to do is, but you can always ask them to be taken down or report the image links to the host after it happens.

it's a losing battle at that point tho. Just be happy people like your pics enough to rehost them! ;)

There really isnt a whole lot. You can contact the site admin/host company and throw come copyright jazz around. They may take it down, they may tell you to go the legal route.

You own the photo and you can have it removed. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) provides you with a framework for getting any content belonging to you removed.

I've learned with Tumblr to not even bother messaging the bloggers. I've never had one remove anything that belonged to me without filing a DMCA Violation Notice with Tumblr.

Funny, they ignore you for days & weeks, but as soon as you go to Tumblr, they can suddenly get e-mail again and the photo comes down at once. You can see a generic DMCA Violation Notice here: http://www.futurequest.net/Services/TOS/DMCA/DMCANotice.php

How to Add a Watermark to a JPEG Image | eHow.com

Basically you can insert text (and make it transparent, if possible), or insert an image (and make that transparent, if possible). I use GIMP, which is free and available cross-platform, add a layer, type or drop an image in that layer, and then make it a transparent layer. There's a little toggle to adjust the transparency to your preferred level.

    Good luck.
