There is such a long history of violence. Growing up, I remember how it was acceptable for straight guys to harass and bully gay guys because they were gay. I remember how openly straight guys hated gay guys. I remember how they used to physically attack gay guys. It was the norm. I do not like seeing straight men around gay men. In fact, you could say I learned to hate straight guys due to these experiences. It just gets my blood boiling when I see a straight guy in a gay bar or with other gay guys. I cannot fathom the idea that they can be friends with gay guys when all I have seen throughout my life is straight guys being our enemies. How is that possible?

It's kind of like saying how can black and white people ever be in the same room. Or Christians and Muslims.

Yes historically and even in many places today, there is bigotry but you can't label everyone based on something they have no control over.

Don’t think it’s like race or religion. Someone’s got your back when you deal with racist and religious discrimination. Gay men don’t have that. Gay men face hostilities alone.

Tolerance, understanding, and a acceptance can't happen if there's no dialogue. By pushing straight men away you are actually causing further divide. The gay community can't gain strides without the support of straight people.

We’re under their mercy. They have no intention to give us support.

This is simply untrue. Sweeping generalizations nearly always are false.

False. Ultimate straight guy Nation Berry legitimized gay rights when he became the first politician to seek a gay endorsement while running for office. Every right we have gained springs from that. Our rights were able to grow because of straight people being accepting and supportive.

is every straight that way? No. But most are.

This is the exception. There is such a long history of violence. Straight men are more likely to harass gay men than to be friends with one.

I have a ton of straight male friends who love to be around me. I respect their sexuality and they respect mine. I really hate this "gay / bisexual men can't be friends with straight guys" stigma. It's annoying, completely untrue and utterly ridiculous...
