I think it is possible to be turned gay. In my opinion it's just who you find more attractive. If you like a girl and you really love her, you aren't gay. If you like a guy and you love him, then you are gay. One of my friends was like that, he was the ladies man all his life. Now he is gay. But he found he enjoyed being with a man more than a woman. I know you can't control who you love, but I'm pretty sure you could be turned gay by being exposed to it enough.

Your friend was just drowning in the overall hetero environment for most of his life and/or in deep denial.

Sorry. :frown1: It's not negative. Just my opinion, Monster.

You're 50/50. Of course you were hot for the soccer captain, and you keep flirting with Monster, not the chicks!

I flirt with the girls too man, but Monster is just too.....irresistable for some unknown reason :biggrin1:

according to my knowlege (sine I have studied it and also read about it in scientific publications) I may say that everyone is not an extreme. I mean, even me being gay, doesn't mean that I hate weman, 'cos i can socialize with them and vice-versa. The core mechanism seems to be regulated by the brain in a specific region related with sexuality (since there are to many). So a gay person has some morphological alterations in such regions that give rise to a diferent physiology and as consequence behaviour = way of feeling love, well psycology stuff. Nevertheless, since our society is mainly heterosexual ( as it is meant to be by nature) we are erased as ment to be heterosexual as well, repressing sometimes our own sexuality, since it is not that accepted or "normal" for many others. By this way, some people find out that they are gay after having experiences with people from the other sex, or even after marriage and having kids... it is a matter to accept it by themselves. Also, people that are meant to be gay by nature and actually are erased in a society/group of people that talk about or are more "open" minded, may accept theirselves earlier or even try it out in case of doubt. In short, I would say that the outcome (Cause), whatever it is, depends among various factors since biological, social, psicological... and the result/consequence is actually dependent of a decision making by the individual itself... It depends of course about its own personality!

By the way.. gay gene? not for sure... it is a question of metabolism of the sexual hormones during the gestation period/pregnacy... the hormones levels are both dependent from baby and mother. The metabolism of them is dependent of the baby... then the brain "genesis" in parts responding to such sexual hormones can variate its structure/physiology due too concentration ratios of testosterone/progesterone/strogens and others...
it seems to be quite complicate!!!

yer thats what i thought but he was adamant he wasnt gay he just like sex with guys better

ROTFLMAO - Thats because there is still a stigma that being gay is a negative or abnormal thing with some people. Clearly your friend is one of these people. It's a shame really. Nobody should hate themselves for doing what comes naturally. :frown1: He has a right to love whomever he likes without being ostracized.

The problem here is twofold:

If people are born gay/there is a "gay gene" - in 20 years, you'll see people aborting babies with that gene, the way you see parents in India and China sex-selecting their babies now. Not a nice thought.

Alternatively...

If people become/are made gay by their circumstances, that validates the existence of those odious groups who say they can "deprogram" people from being gay.

Pick your poison.

sounds like he is gay or bi if he likes females too....and the ocassion he had gay company he decided to try it instead of worrying about what other folk would think, etc.

i am gay and dont believe a so called st8 guy can become gay unless he is bi and decides he likes males for sex over females....my first bf was married but tried m2m sex and liked it so much and divorced his wife..long before he met me may i add.

your friend could have been frigtened to come out before due to society sometimes being homophobic and he found a comfort with gay guys.

we should all really do or be or try what we want to sexually without being labeled, laughed at or discriminated against.

In a drunked stupor, my first experiences with m2m sex was forced on me by two seniors (friends who I admired but not in a sexual way) my freshman year in college. Prior to that time, I had had no interest in guys, wasn't curious and certainly not interested in experimenting. With no one that I felt comfortable discussing the situation with, I turned to trying to rectify it mentally, by scoring with as many chicks as I could over the next 3 or 4 months. Nearly 20 years later, I do NOT (as you say) like sex with men over females. As a bisexual, I have NO preference and have yet to find an individual of either gender that I want to have a monogamous relationship with for an extended period of time. I can hop out of bed with a guy and feel the need for a woman and vice versa.

Please! Human sexualtiy is not that black and white. Human beings are too complex to just be born one way and stay that way forever. We are in a constant state of flux always learning, and adapting. You can evolve into a different sexual preference at any stage of your life. I read that there are 3 things that can predispose a straight man for homosexuality: A determiantion not to be controlled by women, a sexual competition with other men, and a preoccuption with masculinity. Also, it has been proven that straight porn conditions men for bisexuality because you learn to be sexually aroused when looking at both a man and a woman. It's like Pavlov's dog, operant conditioning. The creators of porn know this. Usually the penis is given center stage over the woman. Homosexality may have been natures was of providing population controls and emotional bonding between humans.

I think this sums it up best. I believe in the bell curve. It all depends on how much pride an individual has as to what they will do. As far as gay, I think it is a combo of a fractured parental relationship, mom or pop, sibling and societal interaction and genetics. The masculine affirmation factor has tons to do with it also. How many attaboys or thrown wrists did a guy recieve growing up? Was he first or last to be chosen on the teams in gym? Did the girls jump at the oportunity to date him or just say "No thanks." How old was he when he got his first taste of porn? And a plethora of other factors. I've been with several women and more men. Can I say that I got bored with both and have hopes to be involved in a loving companionship with a woman without being flogged by the gays?
Monster, you still eat at me!!!! How could I catch you on a 10% day?

I don't believe sexuality is a choice - be it straight, bi or gay - its all developed in your formative years and I personally belive its not something you select. You are born with a slightly different "wiring" (for want of a better word) to other people and over time this develops...!

Actually, if you know any gay people, and they have to be card-carrying members, they can get you into the secret gay stores. They sell this soap, called "StraightAway". It you wash with it twice daily, for 3 days, you'll be stunned at your sudden taste for better clothes, stylish haircuts, and flair for interiour design.

Yes, and you need to learn the secret handshake and you must pay your gay taxes to the gay mafia. And don't forget that you get a toaster for everyone else you make gay.

And there are benefits. You know, we gays make so much more money and we have such high disposable incomes because we're all rich. And we lead incredibly interesting lives filled with that wild and crazy spice called, "The Gay Lifestyle." I never have to do dishes, wash clothing, clean, pay bills, or anything that would normally be drudgery because I'm too busy partying and dancing in disco clubs all night, like the rest of the gay club membership.

I'm constantly learning; it sometimes seems like I don't do much in life other than read. But my sexuality is not in a state of flux and never has been. I'm 100% gay and always have been. And at this point in my life, it would be disconcerting at best to suddenly evolve into a different sexual orientation.

You don't know what the fuck you're talkin about then! End of story!

Thanks, for the backup, but your taste in men is faked.

Dude, I got 'attacked' in a drunken stupor by a different girls my junior and senior years of high school...and NADA happened! Couldn't get at all interested...however, if the same thing had happened with my mates on the Soccer Team it would have been a hole different story.

I honestly am SO BORED with these sorts of questions. If a guy wants to fuck/suck/get/whatevah with me, I'm not gonna grade him Gay/Not-Gay. I just enjoy it. I got no time to play those games and think the same goes with my bisexual mates.

Damn str8!!! LMAO! Agree with you completely with regard to the last few remarks.

To rephrase what I said above: I'm not about to be in an exclusive relationship with a guy or chick. Women don't understand this. Straight guys certainly can't comprehend it. And not all gay guys, but certainly a good number of them, look at us bi's as if we're downright fucked up or something.

Primal, quite a few of us on LPSG don't think you are 'fucked up' at all. We'd feel jazzed to get lucky with such a hot, tuned-in bisexual man like yourself. And anyone that disagrees is fine to do so. They're just gonna miss out on all the fun!

Keep at it, Primal Savage!
