So recently I got sucked off by a guy for the first time and I am not going to lie it felt really good...I want to repeat it as its easier to find a guy to suck me than a girl. No mind games or messaging back and forth with guys.

But I am scared of HIV. I have heard that HIV can still be transmitted through oral sex. I am circumcised and have dry glans. So I freaked out thinking I could contract HIV. Also its natural for me to get teeth marks during oral. So couldn't HIV get in through these scratches during oral?

So I just wanted to know how you guys address this...

I asked the guy who sucked me the for the first time if we could do it with a condom on and he said hell no. So am I just being too fussy or whats the story with you guys? How do you address this issue?

Personal expirences are worthless if you're actually trying to get an idea of the risks, though.....
You're asking for medical advice from a bunch of strangers on the internet- just because people are willing to give you their opinion doesn't mean they know what they're talking about.

I used to be an HIV test counselor and had a tester end up positive from it BUT he had given a bj to his positive partner right after having a tooth pulled and had just come home from the dentist's. I blew many positive guys, but never if I suspected I had bleeding gums in any way. It is an acceptably low risk factor unless you do something stupid like the guy mentioned.

Infectious disease microbiologist here- technically yes you can get HIV from oral sex- However if you are the one NOT doing the sucking the risks are essentially zero. If you are the one DOING the sucking....then the risks are higher but this also all depends on 2 things- intact skin covering whatever part of you is going into the other person's mouth and that the person doing the sucking has no sores/cuts/scrapes or any gum/teeth issues inside their oral cavity. The science and data says the risk is about 0.04% chance of getting HIV from unprotected oral sex with a partner of unknown status.

Like everyone said, yes you "can" get HIV through oral sex, however the risk-factor is very low. Once there are skin lesions or blood, that can pose a risk. As a professional in the field of HIV prevention, your experience doesn't sound like it would be high-risk

I've done a lot of research on this and I think the consensus is that you would need to have major open sores/wounds in your mouth to contract HIV while sucking dick. When I got tested for oral a few years ago, the nurse literally told me I was negative before she even pricked my finger.

As the person being blown, no.

As the person doing the sucking, there is a small risk IF you have sores or wounds in your mouth at the time; for example if you have a mouth ulcer or have just had a dental procedure.

The risk is almost non-existent unless you or your sex partner has open cuts/sores. Bleeding gums, receding gums, dental work or even brushing your teeth before a bj all increase your risks.

Chances of the guy receiving head are extremely low unless you receive or have cuts and your partner does as well. Even if your partner had HIV and both of you bled, this still does not guarantee your chances of getting HIV as viral load needs to be high of the positive person.

You can get many other STD's and other infections though. Make it a habit of getting at least 1 oral/blood/urine std test a year if you're sexually active (yes, even while in a relationship.)
